Race: Faun
Fauns have the body of humans along with the ears, horns, and tail of a ram. They typically have curly hair that can range from white, to brown, to black. They stand anywhere from 4'9"-6'0". Typically creamy white, their skin can also be a medium woodsy brown. They do not have a specific eye color as it ranges throughout the race.
Description:
Fauns are best known for their simple way of life. Living on the grasslands and forests they've learned to build their homes into their surroundings. Known for their simple yet beautiful homes and bountiful crops they are one of the most well off races while only being middle class at best.
Fauns have learned to harness wind to power plows and even regulate the temperature of their subterranean homes. However, what they are known most for in their class system, or lack there of. Unlike most other tribes fauns have no class nor ranking. Every member is to grow their own food, build their own home, and maintain their own lifestyle. There are also no healers as the people believe in natural healing and the use of herbs and natural ingredients. From a young age they are taught healing remedies and the prayers meant to be said for each ailment.
Fauns have a fairly simple diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, and grains that they grow. Rarely adding spices the diet may seem bland to other races.
Evil source: A sickness has come over the land. A mysterious illness is affecting everyone, young, old, male, female, it doesn't matter. It starts off when the victim starts to feel fatigued. In a matter of days a cough and fever sets in, followed by splitting headaches. The worst symptom is a sudden allergy to most of the grains and nourishment they receive. The prayers and herbs have no effect on the illness, even making it worse in certain instances. The victims can suffer for years before the illness claims their life.
Quests:
Hunt or be Hunted: During the winter months the Alshidurians rely heavily on the wool provided by their sheep. As cool weather approaches the people are starting to notice sheep going missing. In one of the worst cases they found a sheep carcass on the outskirts of the forest. Even in daylight they can't seem to get a good look at the the creature. If this continues they won't have enough wool to keep them warm in the winter.
Holy Revival: The shrines of Ebba are being vandalized at night. Whether it's being broken down, written on, or set ablaze. This is causing distress and worry in the region and they fear if this continues Ebba won't bless their next crop.
Grave Robber: Someone is desecrating the graves of the deceased. In doing so they are preventing them from moving on to their next life. With the illness on the land and people knowing they will die, the grave robbing is only preventing them from passing peacefully.
Religion: The religion of Ashildur is Eboism. It is the belief that nature holds authority of all else. You are born from the land, live and thrive off the land, and when you die you return to the land. The religion values purity and simplicity in all things. Food is to be eaten without seasonings, homes are to only have what is necessary and be made from clay and wood. Men and women are to be supervised at all times and may only be left alone after marriage. Love is to be pure and sex for no other purpose but reproduction. Any disobedience results in banishment.
Eboists worship the goddess Ebba. Depicted as a beautiful faun in a flowing gown she has markings about her entire body and a glowing halo around her head. She has pale white skin along with short, bronze red hair. One of her arms is raised and in it she holds a tree, the other is lowered and holds music notes. This symbolizes their regard for nature above entertainment and pleasures.
There is no afterlife in Eboism as they believe in reincarnation. Based on how you follow the goddess' laws depends on if you will be reincarnated as a plant, a bird, a fish, a wolf, hunter, or prey.

Attire: Due to their pure nature Ashildarians do not view the body as something shameful to cover. In summer months their attire typically consists of colorful cloth wrapped around their hips. It is typically simple but during celebration can be adorned with beads, feathers, and even precious gems. Neither male nor female cover their chest in the spring of summer months and pants or skirts are simply worn out of necessity. In winter their clothes consist of heavy cloth and wool fastened by straps of cloth. The cloth is dyed dark brown and black in order to maintain their body heat. Once again, during celebration the clothes can be adorned with beads, feathers, and precious gems.
Language: Ashla
Customs: It's customary for men and women to be supervised or separated. Even a married couple sleeps in separate rooms. In order to keep children pure they do not teach on sex or anything about the opposite gender. Men and women are created equal in the aspect that they are taught to provide for themselves, however, once married a wife takes over cooking, cleaning, and raising the young, while the husband farms and builds the home.
One of their customs is that, at the age of three, a marriage is arranged between a male and female born closest together. They are then betrothed, though may not meet until years later or possibly until the wedding. Once a faun turns 20 they have a ceremony welcoming them into adulthood. This takes place at sun up and involves hours of prayer followed by a small meal with immediate family. After the faun is taken to the shrine where they are to sit in mediation until sun down. After they are to bath and change into a ceremonial robe, similar to the one pictured on their goddess. From there they are in isolation with the elders as they place tattoos on their body, symbolizing their place in the tribe. The ceremony concludes at midnight with the release of a floating lantern.
With the ceremony over the faun is now responsible for growing their own food, healing, and well-being. Once their betrothed is of age the wedding takes place two weeks after.
The wedding ceremony is simple. The couple is the spend the day with their family being bathed and prayed over, then changed into simple white robes. The couple then goes to the shrine and prays to be blessed by Ebba. The ceremony is then concluded and they leave to find a spot to build their new home.
The main holiday they have is Sandunere. It lasts a week and starts the first day of fall. It is full of music and dancing, along with feasts as if is the one time a year they are allowed to use spices and more flavorful food. Along with parties and celebration prayer fills the week. Both thanks for the pervious harvest as well as prayer that next harvest be bountiful.
