"Is my room available?" Amend asked looking around inquisitively. "I am very tired from my journey here and I would like to rest for a while". "Yes" I said "It's up the stairs and to the left just where its always been". As Amend walked up the stairs he turned and glanced down at me gave me a quick smile and then was on his way. I went into the kitchen to prepare dinner for the three of us when Kito came in. "Why do you think he's here?" He asked. "I don't know" I said in reply. "Why don't you just ask him? He should be here for a while. He may just be visiting." Kito looked at me for a while and then replied "I'll ask after dinner, hey that smells good." He dipped his finger into the pot and tasted it, "Wow, thats really, really good" He said then he gave me a tight hug and a kiss on the forehead and then went to his room. All this time I was wondering why Amend was here also, was he only here for a visit or was he here fo another reason. He wouldn't tell us until the time was right and neither of us would know when that was.
After dinner was over and i started to clear the plates Amend took Kito into another room to talk. I heard nothing but whispers until they re-enterd the room. Amend and Kito both looked at me with worried looks on their faces. "Whats going on?" I asked. Amend replied; "Dearest Avaia, I bring grave news. Demons have been terrorizing the city and Kito and myself have been summond by the counsil to destroy them. It may take days, weeks, or even months to rid the city of them. But we must go and you are to stay here where it is safe. You must lock all the doors and windows, once they are in they will not stop until every living thing in this house is destroyed." As I sat there listening to the orders given to my creator and my love. I cried inside. this counsil who is supposed to protect our lives not put them in any sort of danger is sending these two people whom I love so much to their death. How was I just supposed to sit there and say "Sure go to your deaths and never return. Leave me here, alone." But I held it in and kept to myself.
I went to my room early that night and tried to sleep. But I couldn't. I heard a knock on my door. As I got up to answer it they whisperd, "It's me Kito. Let me in please." So I opend my door and let him in and as he sat down in my most comfortable chair he said "Don't worrie I'll come home. Dont ever forget about me."
