When the Earth was still new and magic was still plentiful in nature, many strange things were prone to happen. One of the strangest was the creation of the four nymphs. One day on the new earth a volcano spit forth a blast so strong that the air around it created a wind that settled into the gleaming form of an air nymph. She was called Haizea, the wind. She saw the molten rock flowing down the slopes and went forth to cool it. Instead of stopping the destructive lava, her wind incited the first fires, which covered the earth. A being sprung forth from the hottest flames. This fire nymph glowed with a dark radiance and she was called Udiya, fire of gods. Udiya's fires were swept to the sea by Haizea. As the flames met the waves and were extinguished, the sea rose up and created a spritely being. Glowing with a pale, wavering light, she was Pavati, the clear water. Pavati and Haizea combined created the first clouds, and with Udiya's consent, Pavati made them heavy with water. Haizea spread them over the earth and they let loose their burden, creating the first rains. The rain extinguished the fire and soaked into the soil. As the three gathered around a patch of unburnt ground, a green sprout emerged. They watched as the sprout grew into a forest that covered the world in green. A fourth nymph came forth from the trees. She was bathed in a golden light, and small flowers grew in her hair, and she was called Ardith, the blooming meadow. The four guarded the earth in harmony, until Pavati went against Udiya and flooded a fiery island with a great wave, cooling it and rendering it dormant. Udiya was enraged and her fires once again started to consume the world. Ardith's forests were rendered to ash. No waters Pavati poured could extinguish them. Haizea confronted Udiya, whose rage only grew at Haizea's efforts. The fires raged past Udiya's point of control, and she was forced to watch as Haizea was consumed and destroyed. A terrible sadness and regret consumed Udiya, and the fires weakened. Pavati finally put the flames out, and she and Ardith went to Udiya. When they saw their eldest sister was gone, they shunned Udiya, who took the last pieces of Haizea as reminder of her deeds. Ardith recovered, Pavati made rain and rode her waves. Haizea's ashes returned to the blowing winds. Udiya lurked under the earth in the volcanoes that birthed her, occasionally setting fires to places her sisters neglected. Then came Man. They destroyed Ardith's forests, and spoiled Pavati's waters. They even tried to take Udiya's fires. The three untied once more and tried to slow the men down, to no avail. Man damaged the world so badly that magic ceased to exist. The nymphs reverted to their most basic and weakest states. One day as they met in one of the last remaining forests, a group of men came and attempted to capture them. They each fled in a different direction and went into hiding. Though they can feel each other's presence, they haven't seen each other since.
Hair: Rich brown at the roots, fades to a sapling green. Worn long, bangs pulled back into a bun and the rest worn down. White flowers literally grow in her hair. Eyes: Spring grass green, always looks as if she's laughing. Skin: A naturally dark complexion that glows radiantly. Around her shoulders and hips her skin is darker, the color of rich soil. Markings: Swirling patterns in a ring around her chest and shoulders, also on her left arm and both feet. She has a small yellow spot on her forehead that glows with a gentle pulsing light. Persona: Sweet, kinda, a nurturer, very soft spoken and peaceful. She flushes dark brown and her skin turns barky when she's angry. Very passive aggressive. A tree hugger and a conservationist. Vegan. Hope: To be reunited with her sisters, and for the world to be returned to it's natural state. Maybe then the magic will come back. Fear: That she will fade to nothing if humans don't stop destroying her creations. Sexuality: Consider her Asexual, but not Aromantic. She wouldn't mind romance, just don't expect to get up her skirts.
Hair: Red brown and fades to a creamy color. Worn loose and long. Eyes: Amethyst purple, wide and curious. Skin: Very Fair. She has a dusting of dark turquoise freckles. The same blue consumes her arms and legs. Markings: A stark white looping pattern going down her left arm and leg. Her left hip and side is covered with a green mark that looks like seaweed. It seems to sway with some unknown current. Persona: Half extrovert and half introvert. Always ready to learn, but don't be surprised if she uses it against you. An excellent liar. Her mood changes with the tide, but she isn't all bad, just a bit difficult. An excellent companion, as long as you have respect for a being that can control 60% of your body mass (and who knows it). Hope: To see Ardith again. She could care less about Udiya. Has a foolish hope that Haizea will come back. Fears: That someone will set off Udiya and she won't be able to stop her. Sexuality:Heterosexual. If you want more than friendship, be careful. Any relationship with a constantly shifting force takes a lot of time to build and a moment to destroy.
Hair: Black at the roots and fades to bright red. Worn long and loose. Eyes: Were once a vibrant red, but after consuming Haizea her red eyes combined with Haizea's silver and are now a striking metallic pink. Skin: Bronzed and sunkissed. Markings: Black, swirling, vine-like marks on her right side, her left leg and her left shoulder. The one on her shoulder branches up her neck and onto her cheek. Her lips are naturally black, as are the areas around her eyes. A small flame flickers above her head and flares to surround her when she gets angry. Persona: Very smart. Very blunt. Very honest. Very aggressive. Has a very short fuse, but is a little better at controlling it since she killed Haizea. Usually quiet. Doesn't hate humans as much as her sisters. Introverted. Likes spicey foods. She still hasn't forgiven herself for hurting Ardith and killing Haizea. Hope: Acceptance and forgiveness. For everything. Fear:That her sisters both hate her and that Haizea hasn't forgiven her. She's also terrified of the thought that Haizea suffered. Sexuality: Bisexual, but don't think for a moment that she's easy. You play with fire, you get burned.
