I have this image of a person who has no desire to do anything in a rocking chair. I guess I can't say he/she has no desire because he/she couldn't be without the rocking motion of this chair. This person sits there and thinks of painful memories, his/her current state, things he/she could be doing now if he/she weren't in the chair.
But I have a concern. Is this person young and depressed or old and lonely?
Everyone who walks the corridor hears the creaking through the door
No one knows if it's the floorboards or rocking chair; but its the only sound that comes from there
(Surely, it must be the floorboards or the rocking chair. It's the only sound that comes from there.)
There, in a room coated with ennui; there, in a room with a nonexistent somebody
Whose eyes are closed while facing the sun; the light rays exposing this pantomime stillness as young
Light rays that will not penetrate flesh become those meant to disintegrate
(Light rays that will not surface penetrate, in bright darkness disintegrate)
Youthful resilience ages rapidly into change resistance
By the time moonlight provides reprieve the optimism of youth no longer believes
And thus this spirit is inconsolable; the leaning backward and launching forward - uncontrollable
And the creaking proceeds
