"Let's see what we can salvage from the crash. Sherry, stay here with Piers."
No one objects as we walk toward the plane. I stop, hearing a sound,"Wait, do you hear that?"
The others stop with me and listen. Originally, it couldn't be heard. The noise is a sort of ticking. Where Piers and Sherry are, the noise was none exsistent. The noise speeds and gets louder. Chris tells us all to run, but we're all ahead of him, turning as he speaks. Being only about a few feet away, the plane explodes. Hearing the explotion, I push Ada to the ground and shield her with my body. Chris has done the same with Claire while Jake hits the ground. Chris and Jake have jackets on, making my back more open to the flames of the explosion and the debree. I had given my jacket to Ada when we we're on the plane because she was the only one of us without it, being in her usual red dress, and the plane was freezing. Now, I'm glad that she's wearing it because it's another protection. I feel my back burning and hot as I realize that the explosion isn't what's causing my back to burn. My shirt's been caught on fire. I force myself to roll over onto my back until the flames are gone. I stop and lay on my back, wincing in pain. My breathing's heavier because of the pain. A hand touches my arm.
Ada,"Are you alright?"
Claire, Jake, and Chris are now around me. Chris and Jake have lost their jackets, but they're fine. The jackets must have prevented the fire getting to their skin.
"I'm fine."
