When I wake up, Ada is still next to me. She's laying down. I sit up, the pain from my shoulder being now something I can handle. A breeze comes, making the night colder than it was. Without a shirt its chilling, but the bandages help my upper body. I realize my jackets on as well, which it wasn't earlier. They must have put it back on in my sleep, how didn't I realize?
Lookig at Ada, she looks like she's shivering. Chris and Claire are next to each other and look fine. It's because Ada's wearing a dress. I touch her arm lightly. Her skin is as cold as ice. She's laying on her side, facing me, with her arms around her. I lay next to her, on my left shoulder, and pull her close to me. I hold her, attempting to give her what body heat I can. Her arms and face are what's coldest.
Her eyes open, looking at me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you."
She gives a small smile,"It's fine. I'm glad you can move better."
Chris and Claire are near a tree,"I have an idea, come with me."
She follows me to a tree next to Chris and Claire. I crawl so I don;t have to put pressure on my foot. I sit against the tree,"Lay against me, I'll keep you warm."
She looks at me, then at my shoulder,"I don't want to make anything worse."
I grab her and pull her onto me. She doesn't fight back. Laying her head on my left shoulder, she puts her arms around me,"Thank you."
I close my jacket and out my arms around her, resting my head on hers. This is what I've always wanted, her to be safe in my arms,"What did you mean by more than meets the eye between us?"
She hesitates,"I've wanted to tell you something for years. I never knew how, and at first I didn;t realize it. I hope you feel the same way....Leon, I love you."
