I open my eyes. For some reason, I feel like I've had the best sleep I've had in a while. There's a blanket over me now and Ada's gone. Getting up I turn, looking at the table. There is everyone eating breakfast, except for Chris. The lazy bums still asleep, but of course where do I stand right now? Walking over, I get food and sit down next to Ada.
Claire"How did you sleep?"
"Great."
Aside from that there isn't much conversation until Chris comes out minutes later.
When we're all eating we decide it's time to figure out where we go from here. Ada's healed and we can't stay here forever. I have to confront the president still....Thats'll be intresting. I left him to find Ada. Hunnigan wasn't happy about that either. I'll pay for this, but it was all worth it.
Chris"So, we'll all go there first. What happens there will decide how the rest of our day goes."
"No, I'll go there alone. There's no reason to drag yourselves into this."
Claire"We're going to be there for you, and we'll do what we can to back you up."
"I'll take whatever punishment they give me. I'm not backing out of this. It was my choice and I have to take the consequences."
This made the others quiet. Dave and Eva had already left, letting us talk about this. After a while, Ada breaks the silence,"You went threw this......to save me....You may have lost your job, may be taken to prison because of his..."
She's looking at her hands that lay on her lap. As she talks, she doesn't move.
"Saving one is better than..."
Ada imidiately cut me off,"Shut up....Don't you ever do anything like this again. I'm not worth it you idiot!"
She's now furious but still looking down.
"I'm not sorry for what I did, and I understand your concern. I've know the president for a while now. I don't know what will happen, but..."
Ada puts a hand over my mouth,"I'm sorry fr yelling. Thank you for what you did. I know that if it happened again, anything I said wouldn't stop you."
She puts her hand down.
At least that's resolved, hopefully completely.
