I start to walk to her and I start to feel sick. She looks amazing in her red dress that she always wears. She sees me coming and turns to me,"What are you doing out here."
"I was on the porch and saw you come out. I figured you wouldn't mind me coming over here."
She nods and turns back to the tree. I stand next to her.
"Do you know what kind of tree this is?"
What? Did I just ask that? Please say I was thinking inside my head.
Ada-"It's a tree from Japan. I don't know the name of it, but I've seen it all over there on visits."
So, I was right.
"We've known each other for a while now, haven't we? Remember when we were in Racoon City? I threw myself infront of you and took that bullet....I still have the mark."
I smirk and pause. I take my time saying these words, thinking of what I'm going to say next.
Ada looks upset now,"I remember. How could I forget. We bearly knew each other at the time....I'm sorry that it left a scar."
I didn't expect to get that reaction. Maybe I do have a chance to win her heart.
"It doesn't bother me, and I'd do it again if it ment protecting you."
At this she looks at me, then turns back to the tree. She's waiting or what I'm going to say while processing what I just said.
"I didn't just take that bullet to do the right thing....I never felt the way I did about you than I ever had with a woman."
I turn and look at her now, it's my chance now.
"Ada, I've held these thoughts in for too long now and no matter how you react to what I say now, I'll still feel the same about you. I love you. You mean everything to me. I'd like to have a relationship with you, but I don;t want to force you into anything."
She's put her hands together and is silent. She hasn't moved for a while, but now she looks me in the eyes after turning. Her eyes look watery, she's about to cry, "I.....I."
She puts a hand to her face as tears roll down her cheek. I've never seen her cry before.
Ada,"Leon, I love you too. We can never be together though. If anyone found out.....There are too many people after me and I can't see you get hurt again."
She's trying to stop crying but can't, and I can hear it in her voice. She turns and takes a step away, but I stop her from continuing by grabbing her shoulder. I lightly pull her back to look at me,"I'm sure I have people looking for me too. We both have dangerous lives, but I want to spend the rest of mine with you. I want to be in a relationship with you. We can help each other through anything."
She looks at me, still crying. I can tell she's trying to stop but can't,"I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
At that she falls into me and puts her arms around my neck, bearying her head into my shoulder. I hug her back, tightly. I've finally got you, and I'll never let you go.
