The scientist looks at me, fear showing throughout his body, pleads,"No! She's completely unharmed, spare me! She was only given something to make her fall asleep, but she isn't harmed! I swear!"
Anger fills me, but worry as well,"Undo her chains and don't try anything."
He quickly does as I say. My gun follows him, never dropping for a second. As soon as he's done he backs away.
"Don't try anything." I let my gun down and run to her. I feel her pulse. Thank god, she's alive. Ada, you really cut it close this time, didn't you.
Looking back up, the scientist hasn't moved,"Are there any phones here?"
He looks at me,"Behind you is the closest one." Glancing back, I see one. I also take a quick look at the ground. The man I threw the knife at is dead. I walk backward toward the phone. Grabbing it, I look at the scientist who never looks me in the eye. I attempt to call Chris.
"Leon?" A voice comes on the phone.
"Chris, I'm glad your alright."
"I found Ada. Where are you?"
"Great, were in the west mall. How we wound up here we have no idea. Do you need help?"
"Stay there, I'm close. I'll meet you there."
"Alright, just be careful where you go. We're getting the occasional zombies, the usual. Is she alright?"
"I think so. I'll be there soon."
I hung up, going back to Ada. The scientist still hasn't moved,"You can get to the west mall right? I need the fastest way."
He looks at me,"Yes, I can. It's this way." He goes toward the door. I grab Ada, lifting her slowly. Her head lies against my arm, but she is still fast asleep.
