Her Grandpa (Still being in good physical form for a man at the age of 85) started to teach her how to defend herself by teaching her the self defense moves the Red Army used during WWII. Her mind being filled with Russian propaganda by her Grandpa, she decided to become a Spetsnaz operative just like her father. At the age of 18 her Grandpa gave her the knife he used back in WWII, her Grandpa took great pride in the Russian knife, reinforcing the steel, polishing it, etc. Svetlana was then shipped off in missions throughout Russia. At the age of 22 her grandfather passed away, and she led the 21 Gun Salute at the funeral.
