Chapter 3
After the pair leave the bar and returned to Rose's apartment, Rose told Avalon to prepare for a shower and to use her PE uniform as pajamas.
Avalon did ask why and all Rose said was she needs to sleep for a bit. The small girl just did as she was told and prepared for a shower as Rose started to clean up the water on the floor from the sink using dirty towels from the past week.
Avalon sits underneath running hot water hugging her knees with her head on them. She lets the water run down her body over old cuts and bruises from an unknown source.
Rose traced the water to its source at the sink as she cleaned. The source of the water is a tipped over container of water under the sink. Rose finished cleaning up the mess as Avalon poked her head out of the bathroom asking,
"M-ms. Rose... C-can you wash my back please?"
Rose looks over to the young girl "I'll be a minute..."
"T-thank you..."
The school girl returns to the shower and sits under the hot water once more while Rose rings out the towels into the sink. Once the demonic woman finishes that she puts some of her blankets in the sink to soak.
Before Rose enters the bathroom, she strips off her cloths and hangs them up once more, but leaves her long hair in a pony tail.
She enters the bath to find Avalon fighting to stay awake underneath the water. This makes Rose smile slightly and kneel down next to the tub “Back..."
Avalon looks over to her aged friend and does as she was requested and shows her back to Rose. Rose sees a few scars that makes her almost want to lick and heal her wounds, but she gave that up when her lover died.
The adoptive mother picks up the soap and starts washing Avalon's back. After a few moments, Rose tells Avalon to rinse off and scoot forward some.
Avalon does so.
Rose turns the shower to a bath and plugs the tub. Soon after she gets in with her legs slightly bent around Avalon and her feet at the other end of the tub that is big enough for Avalon to lay in but too small for Rose to do so.
Rose pulls Avalon back, resting the girl's head upon her chest as the hot water rises past Avalon's stretched out feet.
The girl blushes lightly for a moment before closing her eyes, listening to Rose's heart beat. Rose's eyes soon followed.
The hot water continued to rise until Rose tuned the water off with her left foot; leavening the water level slightly Avalon’s shoulder blades. The two lay in the tube together for about fifteen minutes when Rose's alarm went off saying it is near five o'clock in the morning. The alarm scared the near sleeping child and made the peaceful demon stir.
Avalon got out of the tub quickly blushing slightly as she looked for a towel to dry off with. Rose did the same with out blushing or looking. She simply heads for the alarm clock and turns it off. She heads to her closet for a towel to dry off Avalon.
But Avalon is already in a damp Gym uniform half asleep. Rubbing her eyes "Ms. Rose is there anything..." She yawns, "You want me to do?"
"Wait..."
Rose has to figure something out quickly. With only her bed room a kitchen and a bathroom, there is no place for the young girl to sleep. Save for a bed covered in urine and other liquids that should not be discussed around Avalon.
Rose Lifts her mattress slightly and smells under it. She needs a new one, no questions need be asked why.
She let it down and sighed heavily. Lifting up her mattress to carry it, Rose tells Avalon “I'll be back in a minute..." the demon tried to carry her mattress to the door, but it is a little to large and heavy for her to move herself. She let's go.
The mattress falls to the ground and Rose steps back for a moment in thought. Avalon interrupts asking "Ms. Rose are you sure you don't want me to help?"
Rose points to the other end.
"Lift..."
The damp girl nods walking over. She goes to lift the mattress up, but the smell is too much and she backs off covering her nose.
"Ms. Rose is there something I can cover my nose with or something?"
Rose nods and heads for her closet. She looks around and pulls out a bandana. "Come..." She kneels down.
Avalon moves quickly and stands in front of Rose. Rose spins the girl around 180 and ties the bandana around her mouth and nose. “There…”
Avalon tugs at the bandana lightly, checking to see if it is on snuggle; it is.
The pair quickly returns to the mattress and try moving it; the bandana reduces the smell, though not by much. They struggle to get the mattress to and then out the door. But once out, Rose has it flied over the side in to the bed of a truck that belongs to a construction worker.
The two quickly return inside and Rose locks the door in her normal manner.
Rose returns to the bed frame and looks at it. The Good news is there are boards where the mattress need sit. The bad news, it smells just like the mattress. Rose walks to the sink and checks under it for cleaning supplies as Avalon just watches slowly falling asleep standing up. There is a deodorizer under her sink, but that does seem to be an okay idea for the moment, but it would only work for a few minutes to maybe an hour before the stench would return.
No dice; Nothing she owns would be able to clean the wood, only mask the smell.
"Get dressed..."
Avalon looks up to Rose "Yes ma'am"
