Well here are the e-mail response of both "Bob" and I as I attempt to buy a new wacom tablet. These are unaltered (except the one that has my address in it). When i get the item back I will let you know . Hello, The tracker has confirmed that you should have the package back with you now. I do not have a problem with paying you for reshipping but for the fact I had asked if a Box number would be a concern and you had said that you had seen FedEx deliver to box numbers before. The worst case scenario you introduced to me was that I would have to go pick it up. As I have already paid 45 dollars for shipping and handling I don't feel that I should have to repay for it. The error was unforseen by both you and I and all cost I was responsible for were paid. The 45 dollars given for shipping and handling seems to be more than enough for the package to be resent without any expense to you. That's really tough XD I hate situations like that. I order stuff online constantly but there is always a risk. So far I've been pretty lucky (aside from receiving a dvd box set for region 2 that I can't play XD But that was largely my fault).

It's hard to say who is in the wrong. Some people require a "shipping insurance" if anything should go wrong but it doesn't seem that they had that.

Is it just a lone person selling or an actual semi-business? Lots of times I believe the people in it more for business are more likely to cover the shipping costs if something went wrong. That's a pretty steep shipping fee and I sure don't blame you for not wanting to pay it again (why is it that high in the first place? o.O)

You did ask first and the seller seemed to okay it so I think they have a bit of a responsibility too. At the very *least* I think they should cover for half of the new shipping. I don't know what else you could do if they still refuse to pay the extra shipping other than compromise.

Those are the key words in the letters. You said IF it isn't a problem. And they said worst case scenario is pick up or something. You are alright in asking for them to pay for shipping. They should make sure since they are sending it. It's their job to make sure to get it to you. Otherwise it's like they are saying, I'm throwing it in the river, you go get it now XD

I hate to be the one to say this, but I have been using ebay for a few years now and that's basically standard. "Bob" was not asking anything out of the ordinary when he wanted you to re-send shipping to re-send the item. His warehouse being in the USA means the postage to send it might of actually been $40+. I Am also in Canada and recently the postage from the USA to Canada has jumped, I bought a $20 item not to long ago whose postage was $40, as well as others along that same line of postage cost from the USA, and when it arrived it really was that amount on the package. If "Bob" were to re-send it he would have to pay the postage out of his own pocket which would cut into any profit made from the item sold which would mean he would be losing money in the long run. Rarely will you find someone on ebay willing to do this unless the shipping incident was completely their fault. I bought an item for over $300 once whose package apparently fell apart on its way here and was sent back to them by the post office and they re-sent it without asking for postage, but that was kind of a rare thing. I am kinda surprised he would ship to a post office box, most I've dealt with will only ship to those with a confirmed paypal address' because P.O boxes are kinda known for returning things all the time. sad
