Setting: 1925, the heart of the Prohibition period when the sale and consumption of alcohol became illegal in the United States.
Down a quiet street in New York likes a candy shop called Lady Licorice. Not a terribly interesting or suspicious place, the owner of the Lady is a quiet, beautiful woman who lives above the shop in a small apartment. Every day at 10 am, the candy shop opens and is promptly flooded with small children who buy candy from the tall fellow who runs the counter. Every night at 6 pm, the doors front doors close and the back door around the corner opens. Through this backdoor lies the store room to the candy shop. In this store room likes a small trapdoor on the floor. Through this trapdoor lies a long passageway to The Maidenhead.
Bustling, bouncing, and full of life, The Maidenhead is a speakeasy where people come from all over New York to drink, party, and have a good time. A bar lies to one side of a spacious room full of tables. On the opposite side, a fireplace crackles with warmth. Directly across from the unassuming entrance lies a grand stage where every night, dancers and musicians come to entertain. If your lucky enough, "Lady Licorice" might even be performing.
