"let x = y
therefore x - y = 0
also 2x - 2y = 0
2x - 2y = x - y
divide both sides by (x-y)
1 = 2"
Okay, I was so bored, I was like...let's do a math problem with it!
So then I took out my pencil and started working on it.
Since x = y, that's the rule for the equation
x - y = 0. Yeah, cuz if x = y and x = 2, then y = 2. Subtact 2 from 2 and you get 0. That's good!
Okay
2x -2y = 0
Yes because if 2 (2) = 4 and 2 (2) = 4.... 4 - 4= 0. That works out fine!
But then I got to
2x - 2y = x - y ????
but you gotta divide it, apparently.
Let's see...
2x - 2y = x - y
_____ _______
x - y x - y
Half of 2x would be 1x so that's good.
but as for 2y, half of 2y would be 1, too, but you gotta subtract them.
1-1=0
and x-y divided into itself is 1
So I came up with
0=1
