Eurghhh... Yesterday in biology, mr robson greeted us with a "fizzing" blue bag. He challenged people to have a feel of it to figure out what it was. Then he told us that it was a bag full of MAGGOTS. And that today we would be using them in an investigation into maggot movement.
I thought it would be good to race them, but we were doing something much less exciting. That was counting how many times a maggot crossed a line in a petri dish during 5 minutes.
._.
This was very boring once the novelty of maggots wore off, sadly the maggots became no less disgusting. You had to stick the spoon right into the bad of writhing maggots to get a good shovel full, then shake the spoon so you only had one left. We floated the petri dishes in two water baths of different temperatures to find out whether this effected the speed of the maggot. My first two were really lively! They zoomed around the petri dish, they had some sort of agenda I think...
Once we'd finished with our maggot, we had to put it in a petri dish dubbed "maggot hotel" by mr robson. But then there were too many maggots so maggot hotel went into a plastic box. But before long, the maggots got organised and scaled the walls of the box. There were maggots on the table, maggots on the floor e-e I decided to watch over the old maggots because I'd had enough of watching them in a petri dish.
aaaaand Today I went to: Leeds University! :D It was for a chemistry day. We made a salt, we mixed various things together in test tubes, we used a photo-spectrometer >.> That might be it's name.... Yeah, it wasn't that exciting. It was enjoyable, but.......to day doesn't lend itself well to word form.
