Earlier this past school year I sent myself a message via FutureMe.org.

Here, I copypaste it to show how much I've changed even since then...although I feel it's in a weird way as opposed to good. The sentence I've bolded is the point that struck me most, really.

Dear FutureMe,

Now you're going to be a senior. What did you do this year that you haven't ever done before? Was this really the Year of No Regrets like you wanted it to be? Looking back for a bit, what would you do differently?
Most importantly, did you do everything you wanted to? I hope by this point you've done something about Ben Wilson. If you haven't, then some things never change.
Notes to Self for the summer and coming school year:
Practice every day. Marching band stuff and rudiments. Don't slack saying 'I'll do it tomorrow.'
At this point, there is no tomorrow. There's a reason we bring the vibes home.
Be genuine to everyone, don't be a sourpuss and try to sound sarcastic when you're trying to be sarcastic.
Love life, no matter what. You're awesome and anyone who thinks otherwise is obviously a moron and/or Elitist.
First quarter is always toughest, but after that do all your homework the night it's assigned.
Keep in touch with everyone you want to stay friends with. Turner, Andrew, Caroline, Zeena, Nick T, etc.

And for God's sake, get over Ben if you haven't already. If you haven't done anything that would make him want to come back to visit, he's not going to.

I know this is stupid but maybe I'll see more insight into it after the rest of the school year.
Here's hoping this e-mail finds a content, unregretful me.

About the Bold: Granted, I wrote this before I knew that he wasn't going away for good, but still...maybe I do have more sense than I thought, I just don't listen to myself.
