I'd already had it written up, but simply hadn't submitted it due to graduation party issues.
1. Tell us more about yourself, what you write here will end up on the first page if you go through. My name's Meg, also known as Down or DS! My current residence is in the USA where I'm a college student studying for my Psychology degree. I spend my time reading cheesy romance novels, selling clothes at PacSun, attending Anime Cons around the country, working on my wave runners, and taking care of all the puppies my room-mate brings home. I've been a member of Gaia since early 2005, and I spend most of my time in the mini-shops, commissioning fellow artists. I guess you could say I'm an art-aholic, which is why my virtual pockets tend to collect dust bunnies. I'm the sense of humor in the group, with a fierce competitive spirit and determination to win, win, win. Some say I'm rather ruthless in the pursuit of my goals, taking whatever steps and actions are necessary, but I just think that if you want something, you'd better put everything you've got into it. The competition is hot, but what's life without a little challenge?
2. What kind of challenges would you like to have in this whole contest? Intellectual, strategic, creative, team-oriented, solo, problem-solving, real life AND virtual, and test our overall abilities. Challenges that make sure that we're really well rounded, to prove who's the best in not just one area, but all areas.
Maybe something that involves making food...or maybe I'm just really hungry right now. xD
3. Why should we choose you? Because I'm someone who's a leader by nature, but can be a follower to allow a team to work efficiently together. I'm someone who likes to see things through till the very end and put every pit of time and thought into the things I do, so I know I'll work very hard to win and I'll NEVER give up in this competition. If anyone even has a thought about not putting all they've got into this, they shouldn't have joined in the first place. I'm also someone who's a veteran of Gaia, so I know my site really well, I'm creative (my major was Industrial Design before I switched) so I'm imaginative in my problem solving, and I'm someone who can keep the peace amongst everyone during this hot competition. I'm not someone who causes the fights, usually, but the peace keeper. Never the less, that doesn't mean I'll go easy AT ALL on these other competitors, and I WILL give them a fight for their money and challenge them and myself to the fullest of our capabilities. I believe I have all the skills needed to make it through to the end, plus some more unusual skills that will help me in surprise challenges. I also think I have far more drive than the other competitors may have, plus the time to focus on the competition, and the resources to last in the competition.
4. If you had to team up with people, what kind of people would you work best with? I'm usually a leader, but I'm also a very efficient follower. I need team members who are quick and don't waste time, who can work smoothly with others without conflict. If there's conflict in the group, it shows weakness and can ruin our chances entirely, so they must be able to put up with one another (not necessarily like each other). I need people who are open to the ideas of others, and be willing to provide their own ideas and alter them if needed. They should be well intelligent, and good problem solvers. Team members who are willing to go the extra mile without being told, and do beyond their best on whatever (no matter how small) task they're handling.
5. What kind of people would you work worst with? You never know who you work most efficiently with until you're already working with them. I'd have to say someone who will put just as much extra effort as I will, and will set their alarm at 4am if needed, just I'll be willing to do. Someone who can give instructions well, but also listen to my own ideas and input. Also someone who doesn't make me do all the work, unless they're looking to get kicked out of the competition. If I'm working with another person, that means we're a team, and by one person do all the work hurts both of you. I'm looking for people who are rational, who've perhaps been on Gaia longer, and who are serious about the competition but are still very friendly and open. c':
6. Some contests are live, and will require you to be online at a specific time, would you do your best to attend? You bet'cha. I'm on all the time. Like, really, all the time. And while I may not be a morning person, I have an alarm so it's no problem. Actually, two alarms, so it's definitely not a problem.
7. Some of the contest might require you to do something IRL. Will you be able to take photos and document what we want, and then upload and have it shown on the first page? No problem at all. I have a camera on my phone phone, and thankfully I just got picture messaging back! Send it to my email, upload it to Photobucket, and voila, good to go! I also have an emergency back up camera if my phone dies or a mysterious asteroid crushes it.
8. If you get eliminated, what do you do? Watch the rest of the competition and root for any friends or team-mates I'd worked with. There isn't much I can do, but I'd still stick around to give them support, watch, and see who ends up at the top!
9. If someone picks a fight with you, what do you do? This is a competition, not a 'real-life, drama' game like some other contests are doing. So while I won't back down to anyone challenging me or let them get away with it, I know to keep the drama to a minimum. I wouldn't allow it get in the way of my performance and the performance of my peers. I would approach the person calmly and rationally to quit it, but if it escalates to an extreme point I would ignore them entirely. It get them angry when they don't get a reaction. (; I don't plan on having many issues with the other contestants though, since I'm pretty easy to get along with and good for a laugh.
10. If your team-mate gives up, would you continue fighting? Of course I would, it would simply be another challange to get around! And this contest is about being challanged after all. The very thought of giving up is ridiculous, because you don't deserve to win if you do. You have to prove you want to win, and that you can handle different and difficult situations, which I know I can do. So I'd take up the work the other persons unfinished work and do it twice as well, then hope that they are eliminated later. Anyone who isn't dedicated just gets on my nerves and I don't think they should be apart of the contest in the first place if they don't have the drive.
11. What time zone are you in? EST = (UTC -5)
