Connor put a hand on her shoulder and rubbed it warmly.
"See?" he said with a big grin. "I told you you could do it."
Jenna blushed a soft red. He was right. After everything that
happened, she had won. And she knew the only way she could've done it
was because of Connor.
"Connor," she began. "I want to say thankyou."
"Oh?" Connor replied. "Why is that?"
"Connor, you've always been there for me. You've always supported me,
cared for me, protected me, and you always make me happy."
Connor chuckled.
"That means I'm doing my job well, then." he replied.
Jenna smiled sweetly.
"I'll, always be grateful that I found you, Connor."
Connor smiled warmly, carressing Jenna's cheek softly.
"So will I."
Jenna now blushed a deep red. The way Connor held her face in his hand
felt so nice... She couldn't help it. She had to say it.
"Connor... I don't ever want you to leave me."
Connor paused. He was unsure at what Jenna was getting at, but he had
a feeling. And his heart started beating fiercely as a result.
"What do you mean?"
Jenna paused. But she couldn't hold it in anymore. She whipped her
head up and looked straight into Connor's eyes.
And with small tears welling up in her eyes, eyes shimmering, her
cheeks blushing bright red, and with her happiest and sweetest smile:
"I love you, Connor!"
Connor froze, his lips parted. His cheeks steadily turned a deep red.
Jenna was now worried. Was it wrong for her to have said this?
Connor was getting redder and redder, until suddenly he flicked his
head down and stared at the ground.
Jenna lept towards him in shock, putting her hands on his shoulders.
"Connor, I'm so sorry!" she said frantically. "I just- I just, wanted
to tell you!"
Connor slowly looked back up at her, his cheeks still bright red. But
he was smiling.
"Huh? Connor?"
Jenna was now confused, but she felt a little better knowing that he
was alright.
"Jenna," Connor said quietly. "Did you mean what you said just then?"
Jenna nodded hurriedly.
"Of course!" she replied. "You're the most important person to me now!
You're the one person I know that I can spend the rest of my life with!"
Connor's face turned a rose red. He couldn't believe what he was
hearing. He was... hearing his own feelings. Word for word.
Jenna put hand to Connor's face, making him blush even heavier.
"Connor?" she asked "Are you sure you're okay?"
Connor held Jenna's wrist tightly and lovingly.
"Thankyou, Jenna." he said with a warm smile. "Thankyou ever so much."
Jenna's heart began to beat wildy, as Connor slowly leaned in towards
her.
She couldn't believe it. Were they- ?Were they really going to- ?
Jenna couldn't control herself. She found herself moving slowly
towards Connor too, without thinking. All she knew was that she wanted
it. She wanted it more than anything.
She see the flashes of fireworks out of the corner of her eye. But she
couldn't hear them.
She could feel the warmth of Connor's hand on hers. They were so close.
The fireworks lit up the sky.
And After what felt like eternity, Connor and Jenna's lips met.
The very night sky seemed to explode with light.
And two sillouettes of a boy and a girl could be seen against the
night sky, entangled in eachother's embrace.
