Ben is a far-from-famous and far-from-talented Paranormal Investigator, working for pay under a supernatural tabloid as a field journalist. Cue wacky hijinks. Ben and his sidekickPARTNER Check travel the world and have neat adventures with strange creatures. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but... Well, he is determined, and very lucky.
Appearance

- Build: Ben is a little tall, with a slim, rectangular body, wide ribs, and square-ish shoulders and hips.
- His skin is pretty much a normal, pinkish colour. Not extraordinarily pale or tan.
- Face: His nose is fairly large, as are his ears. His jaw is square and his grin is very broad and toothy. He has wide, blue eyes.
- Hair: He has long, dark brown hair, usually tied back in a ponytail that reaches several inches down his back. It's wavy and somewhat greasy. His bangs, parted slightly to the left from his POV, vary in length from chin (right) to ear (left), with the right side covering his eye.
- He prefers red scrunchies.
- Default Expression: Grins, grinning while talking, looking confused, or bored.
- Despite the hair, Ben actually looks like a guy. He doesn't have a lot of muscle tone but he's not a simpering Bishie either. c: If you're going to work with him please keep this in mind.

- Tops: Most of his shirts are dark colored and fitted, usually long sleeved. He tucks them into his pants, but they never stay that way.
- Lower: He usually wears khaki or blue jean and always adorned with some kind of crazy belt buckle.
- Said belt buckle is usually in the theme of the supernatural. IE, it might be a Yetti face or a UFO, etc.
- Shoes: Black steel-toed boots with too many buckles.
- Ben is very, very, very fond of his trenchcoat. It's pretty much your standard trencher: Imagine this with storm patches on both sides, shoulder loops, and made of a thinner material. A slit runs up the back. In colour, the body of the coat is close to baby poop brown, with the belt, storm patches, and pocket covers a slightly darker shade. Sometimes his buttons have been replaced with more colourful ones. He never buttons it up or ties the belt. It's torn, scratched up, dirty, and it's generally pretty nasty and dirty looking.
- Typical Outfit: Black long sleeved shirt, trenchcoat, blue jeans, crazy belt buckle, and steel-toed black boots.

- Accessories: Sometimes Ben wears a small necklace with a neon green alien head and several black and green beads.
- You're free to draw him shirtless (These zany situation occasionally demands male nudity, you know), so long as you keep him free of chest hair, pecs, and dignified facial expressions.
- In combat, Ben usually goes for crossbows and magic items (Like holy water)
- He's an avid reader of 'informative' occult novels and magazines with titles like 'Life After Life' or 'Chupacabras: Caring For Your New Pet'.
- Cracker Jacks. Ben loves those little bitches. Feed him some.

- Ben is a huge, HUGE paranormal detective nerd. Hence looking like some hideous combination of every noir cliche ever draped around what is escentially a big-eyed man child. <3
- He has boundless energy and seering optimism. Mostly because he's too dense to see when he's in actual danger.
- 'Ben' is in fact his full first name. It's not Benjamin or anything.
- Pose Ideas: Ben is most at home expositing, trying something really stupid, running away afterwards, boasting and being a giant ham, or being p***y whipped by Check.
- Check and Ben aren't lovers; they're begrudging friends who are forced to depend on each other despite having nothing in common. They stick together through good, bad, and snark (Usually with Check doing the snarking).
