One Phone Call Later
"Quiet down you guys!" Carol screamed over the phone as he heard sounds of children's laughter. "H-Hello. I-It's me Kenn." A slightly deep but innocent voice was speaking on the phone. "I'm sorry. Who?" Carol replied as if she never heard of that name before. "Kenn the new kid.." He felt disappointed as he stood his back so stiff that is was as hard as wood. "OH! Kenny, hey! Sorry, I couldn't remember anything between the demon children." Carol giggled but this was the first time in ages she sounded like that. "Oh yeah you call them demons but you never know, you might have acted the same way." Kenn tried to joke around for a few seconds. But then he got straight to the point. "Look, Carol, you have no need to follow me around at school tomorrow. You'll only become part of a rumor your friends spread around the school." Carol felt like she was in a Deja-Vu scene. "Oh pssh, if they were my real friends they would stick with me. So don't worry yourself about me.." Then Carol heard a crash like a bottle of glass falling down through the phone. She then heard voices of an angry couple arguing, then the phone died. Carol was shocked. " I can't believe Kenny lives in an environment like that..."
The Next Day
The entrance doors to the school were opened half-way. "Hey Kenn. Are you alright?" She was still petrified by what she heard on the phone. But she didn't let it get to her. "Are you sure it's okay to be walking so close to me? I mean your boyfriend is looking straight at me with a death glare!" Kenn whispered. She turned to Derrek. "He's not my boyfriend and that's just his 'I'm trying to scare you' look. There's nothing to be afraid of." "Who said I was afraid?" The whole school day, they were being looked at and whispered about.
