It was a beautiful day in the land of Hadrean; the flowers have bloomed, leaving a number of different colors upon the ground, blue skies, not a cloud in sight, and the grass was a lush green, daring to grow taller than the trees themselves. People worked outside, enjoying the nice weather, and were just about as busy as the bees today; they worked with their gardens and weeded the flowers as their children played with the family pets, all was peaceful. And only one girl stayed in bed on such a fine day. “Razillia Hellus Lorena!” The girl merely rolled over in her bed, ignoring the angry calls from downstairs, and held back a yawn. She just absolutely did not want to get out of bed. “Razillia!” Her aunt called again, this time marching up the stairs to roll her niece out of bed. “Razillia, get up. It's a nice day outside and you have work to do,” She demanded as she shoved her niece lightly on the shoulder, “and an active brother to look after.” She added. Raze opened her light green eyes halfway and looked up at her aunt and gave a moan, and at about that time a brown haired boy about the age of five flew into the room and jumped onto the bed, landing right on top of his sister. “Razey! Get up!” The boy said in a playful tone as he pushed at his siblings shoulder with a huge grin on his face. She blindly swatted at her little brother and she shoved him off with a growl. She hated beautiful days. Everyone was so active and full of energy, ready to do anything that was thrown at them. While Razillia on the other hand, was the type of person who wanted nothing to do with such days and merely wanted to be left alone and sleep them away. “Get up and get ready for the day, your breakfast is getting cold.” Her aunt stated firmly as she left the room. Raze sat up with a yawn and she rubbed her eyes. She looked at her brother who was playing with a wooden dagger, pretending to be a fearsome knight, fighting the wall which was apparently supposed to be some evil monster. He never held his attention to one thing long, which meant he liked wonder away from you about every three seconds, which meant that he was a troublemaker. Raze got up with an unamused expression on her face and chased her sibling downstairs. He hid under the table and giggled pointing his toy dagger at her, "Evil dragon! I will slay you!" He said, not able to keep a straight face. He climbed out from under the table and charged at Raze playfully, who decided to play along and take part as the role of the evil dragon. She growled and roared playfully as she crouched down and grabbed the boy as he charged to stab her. She flipped him over onto his back softly and tickled his belly. He dropped his wooden weapon and shook with helpless laughter, trying to fight off his sister's tickle attack. Even Raze could not help but giggle. She quit and poked her tongue out at her brother and said in a teasing tone of voice, "Gotcha!" She helped her brother to his feet and went back upstairs and shut the door, changing from her cozy night wear and into some fresher clothes. She went into the bathroom and brushed her teeth and long auburn hair, readying herself for the dreadfully beautiful day.
“Razillia, take out the trash! Razillia, weed the garden!” Raze imitated her aunt Sellie, with a high, snotty voice, “Razillia, watch your brother! Go shopping! Don't forget the apple sauce and the fresh eggs! Oh, and be sure to take Lenry with you!” She gave a low growl as she walked through the market, her brother at her side, holding his hand tightly in case he tried to wander off. In her other hand was a basket full of food that she bought with her own money that she was saving up to buy herself a weapon and hire a trainer to teach her the ways of the sword. But unfortunately such things were to but a dream, for it was quite expensive and she had to spend her own currency on food and supplies for the family. Her reverie was broken by gasps and yelps from the crowd, and her attention suddenly turned toward the distance. She stepped backward and dragged Lenry behind her just in time to avoid collision with a snow white stallion. The stallion ran at a canter through the busy market toward the castle that the town of Hadrean surrounded. The stallion's rider was cloaked in black, and Raze could not see the riders face from under his hood from her vantage point. Raze merely shrugged and shook her head, dismissing the man who rode the beautiful horse as just a fool in a rush to go absolutely nowhere. The market throng gathered around someone as they were explaining something. Razillia could not make out the persons words but she managed to get to the front of the crowd to see what was going on, and to hear what he had to say. “-- And the king will be notified immediately. Please, people of Hadrean, listen to me. You must gather only the supplies you need, take your children and keep them close, and leave as soon as possible. Your lives, and Hadrean itself, is in grave danger.” The man was a little shorter than your average man, and he was cloaked in black, similar to the horseman, but his hood was down, which revealed his short dusty blonde hair and pale face that was clouded with concern. Unsure and worried murmurs emitted from the crowd. What was he talking about? Raze wondered what threat could possibly be coming that would harm the whole town itself. She stared at the man, and after a couple of moments their eyes met. The sudden feeling of something very wrong, very dark and sinister seemed to fill the area around her, and chills ran up her spine and arms. She turned away from him, and made her way back through the throng, still holding tight to Lenry's hand. Heseemed confused as to what was going on and why. “Razey, what was he talking about?” Lenry asked in a cute voice. “Nothing, sweetie. Just someone being silly is all.” Raze looked down at her sibling once they made their way out of the large crowd that was beginning to break up.
