Ok, so this RP is a romance. It's basically about a young Prince who's heir to a Kingdom but his family is murdered when he's very young and ends up being raised by a family of a neighboring kingdom that happens to be the enemies of his land. However, he does not know any of this. He grows up and joins the Army and then is invited to try out to become a bodyguard for the royal family which is supposed to be a great honor because only the best of the best can become part of the Elite group. Anyhow, while he becomes a bodyguard, he befriends the Princess and they eventually fall in love. The neighboring Kingdom declares war and half of the Elite force is called to go to battle and the Prince is included. Somehow, while he's in the battlefield, he finds out about his lineage and his parents, and he has multiple decisions to make: take over the throne and find his parents' murderers and punish them. continue war with the Kingdom he was raised to love or declare peace, or forget about his true love, the Princess of the enemy Kingdom...what is going to happen? Anyhow, this is designed to be a LONG TERM RP.
Sorry for the lengthy starter but I could not help myself...he he he he he
The Kingdom of Minas and the Kingdom of Athos had been enemies for centuries. That was until King Brycen, King of Minas, had decided he wanted peace between both countries. King Brycen arranged a meeting with King Sirius, King of Athos, and his advisors to set a peace treaty for both countries. The countries were not at war but their relations were shaky. It was that year when his children were born, that the King of Minas had decided to improve his relations with the Kingdom of Athos. His wife, Queen Celina, had given birth to twins, Byron and Arianna (my character). Byron was the heir to the throne of Minas and the King wished for his son to have peace in his kingdom when the time came for him to take over and rule their people. King Sirius, King of Athos, had had the same thoughts when he received a letter from the King of Minas. He and his wife, Queen Sephira, loved their three year old boy. The young prince (your character, you have to come up with a name for him) was heir to the throne of Athos.
Now, King Darius had a younger brother: Lord Darius. Lord Darius and his wife, Lady Isabelle, lived in the castle. Lord Darius was an ambitious man and though he was the head of the Council in the King's court, he resented his brother for being the King. Lord Darius had the conviction that he would be a better ruler and had the vision of building an Empire, Athos ruling over many countries...starting with Minas. Lord Darius was most displeased with Minas' proposal of peace and tried to disuade his brother on agreeing to such meeting. But King Sirius dismissed his brother's words and continued with his plan to meet with the King of Minas.
Lord Darius' ambition was a very contagious virus and with the years, he had gathered supporters for his vision and ideas. Lord Darius and his supporters plotted an attack to get rid of the royal family and proclaim himself as the new King. Just a few days before meeting for the peace treaty, King Sirious and Queen Sephira left with escorts and servants on a trip to the outside of the city, they were going to visit some friends that lived in the country. Lord Darius seized the opportunity and with his supporters' help, he gathered an army of mercenary soldiers and sent them to attack the traveling party. These soldiers were fierce and quickly overpowered the King's escort, the King himself joined the battle as he and his loyal soldiers defended the Queen and the Prince. The King was wounded and he knew he would not live past the battle so he urged him wife to escape. The Queen and a young servant girl ran into the forest, trying to hide. Three of the mercenaries followed them into the forest. They ran and ran and ran for hours, the Queen holding her son tightly. When they came upon a river, the Queen and the servant girl sat down at the banks of it, resting for a minute, their shoes dirty and their dresses filthy and torn. The young girl heard the men coming and the Queen realized if they did not separate, her son would not survive. She wrapped the baby with her shawl and placed her gold chain with the royal seal around the toddler's neck and kissed his forehead. With tears in her eyes, she told the girl to run as far away as possible and to make sure her son would live. The young girl held the sleeping boy in her arms and ran downstream as silently as she could while the Queen made a lot of noise as she ran upstream. The Queen could hear the men coming closer to her and she hugged herself, pretending to hold something against her body to make sure she had their attention. After running and stumbling for an hour, the Queen fell on her knees, exhausted and trembling. She stayed still as she felt the men approaching her.
"Your Majesty...where is your son?" one of the men said as he pulled her up roughly
The Queen looked at him defiantly and shut her mouth. She was not going to say anything. The man slapped her but she only gasped in pain and did not say anything. "Perhaps the boy is with the servant girl that accompanied them earlier" a voice said. The Queen looked up at them frightened and begged, crying "Please please let my son live!"
The man that had slapped the Queen only laughed and said "My Lady, I'm sorry but I'm being paid for this. I have not choice...Luca! go after the trail of the servant girl and bring them back...". Then they took the Queen back to where the attack had taken place, the bodies of the soldiers and servants that accompanied them were scattered everywhere and her husband's body was in the center of the carnage. The Queen was thrown on her husband's bloody corpse and she cried in despair, the leader of the mercenaries stood by her and said "If you don't tell us where your son is, You're going to die a slow painful death...". The Queen looked at him defiantly and then spied a dagger lying on the ground, she snatched it and then buried it in her chest, dying almost instantly on top of her husband's body.
In the meantime, Risa, the young servant girl, ran as fast as her legs could carry her, praying that the mercenaries would not find her. She had promised her Queen that she would protect the boy's life. After hours of running in the dark, she left the stream and went back into the forest. After a few minutes of walking into it, she found a road and she followed it North. She had no idea where she was going but she followed it. It was starting to get dark and chilly, the attack had been made a little after noon. She was hungry and tired and wanted to find a place to rest and the sun was setting, it was going to get dark soon. After walking on the road for a while, she decided to go back into the forest but following the road. She had realized anyone could spot her easily if she was in the road. Soon it got dark, but luckily, there was a full moon and the moonbeams gave enough light for her to be able to see where she went. She decided to go back on the road again and at the distance she was lights, there was a village down the road. She ran feeling a bit relieved and when she was close to it, she slowed her pace and then thought about how was she going to get food and shelter for them both. She also thought the people would be suspicious of her and if the mercenaries came looking for her, they could hand her over to them. As she neared the village, she spotted a shed and went into it, finding some goats and a lot of hay inside of it. Risa laid the baby down on the hay and walked about the shed. She found a bowl and milked one of the goats. She then offered the milk to the baby boy who had woken up hungry and startled. "where's my mommy?" he kept on asking and she just hushed him and tried to assure him that she was coming for them. They boy grudgingly fell asleep again and she sighed, with tears in her eyes for she didnt know what to do at this point. She slept for a couple of hours but then got up and gathered the sleeping boy in her arms and went outside and kept walking North. They wouldn't stay there, the men were coming. She walked for the whole night, leaving the village and going back into the forest. Right at dawn, she reached another town. After listening to people talking, she concluded she was in one of the border's towns. If she kept going North, she was going straight into Minas. JUst as she was deciding what to do, she spotted a man dressed in a walk armor and it brought shivers down her spine. She just knew he was looking for them (yep, that's Luca). with panic, she ran into an alley and there were several carts parked in it, with the horses and mules that pulled them. Their owners were bartering with each other. Risa moved around them silently and making sure that no one was looking, she placed the sleeping toddler in an empty basket that was on a cart. She climbed on the cart and rearranged the things in the cart to conceal the basket. The cart held sacks of vegetables, hay and other merchandise. Risa climbed off the cart and whispered "May the gods protect you little Prince...Now I will take care of that man that seeks you death...I will draw him away and make sure he doesnt harm you..." She took off her shawl and grabbing an empty sack she mande a bundle with it and with the shawl and carried it as if it was a baby. She walked out of the alley and walked down the main road of the town, in the opposite way and hoping to find another exit to the town. Sure enough, Luca spotted her and went after her. When Risa became a servant, she had made a pledge to serve her masters with her life but she had never thought she would actually have to sacrifice it for them...surprisingly, she found herself at peace when Luca dragged her into his horse and rode out of the forest with her, she still clutched onto the bundle and hoped that he would think she was still carrying the baby.
Meanwhile, the cart started to move and its driver was heading out of the town and going into Minas. Mr Joseph Davies was a merchant and a farmer and he did a lot of bartering at the border of Athos. He was not poor but he wasn't extremely wealthy either. He owned a farm and nice house, and was married to lovely lady, Amelia. They didn't have any children and had tried to have them but they had no luck. Mr Davies had been thinking very deeply about it and had not noticed his belongings had been rearranged. It was until it was getting very hot and was almost midday that he noticed and when he rummaged through his things to make sure nothing was missing, he found the basket and the boy in it. "Oh Heavens!" he said with some panic, he looked about but he was the only one in the lonesome road that led to his town. The boy woke up and cried, tired and hungry, and scared and Mr Davies grew more nervous about the whole thing. He tried to calm the boy down and gave him an apple once he quieted down a bit and decided he would hurry home. His horse did not like his master's sudden urgency to get home but he obeyed. They arrived home almost by sunset, and he was glad he to be home before dark. His wife was surprised to see him come home with a toddler but her motherly instincts took over and she cared for the boy. "perhaps heaven has heard my prayers and gave us this child to raise as our own" she had said after she had bathed the boy and rocked him to sleep. It wasn't until a few days later that Mr davies had found the gold chain with the royal seal in his cart and he just knew, he was royalty but he didnt have the heart to take away the child from his wife for she had been the happiest since he had brought him. His resolve to not say anything was absolute once he heard about the devastating news about the royal family of Athos being murdered. "If I say something, they may think I had something to do with the murders" he thought and so he hid the gold chain away. He would not say anything about it but could not bring himself to get rid of it...for he knew that one day, the truth would be revealed and he would have to give it back to its rightful owner. Mr Davies raised the boy as his own and came to love him, and that eased the guilt of the secret he knew.
Lord Darius took over his brother's throne and used their murders to inflict suspicion over the Kingdom of Minas. Of course, there were no proof that they had been involved but the suspicion was enough to rekindle the rivalry and resentment that the citizens on Athos had felt towards the Kingdom of Minas. But Darius could not go to war soon. He had to be patient and build a powerful Army that no one would be able to beat. Also there was the fact that he had no heir of his own. His wife Isabelle had not been able to conceive. And after the heinous crime of her husband, Heaven was most displeased and did not grant them any children. King Darius, however, was not preocuppied with this for he was too absorbed in his plans of conquest and dismissed his wife's sadness. Years passed, and the lost heir grew to be a strong and intelligent boy while King Darius still had no heir of his own.
In the Kingdom of Minas, after the murder of royal family in Athos, King Brycen feared for his family and country and doubled the security at the borders and in the castle. All those years, his children grew up in the utmost safety. Prince Byron was raised to be the next King and so as a result, he was very regal and very aware of his responsibilities. He was a brave, strong and intelligent young man and was the pride of the King. Now his daughter, was his pride too but it was also the Queen's dismay. Arianna had not only turned out to be a very graceful and beautiful young lady but had also turned out to be a young lady full of life and full of love for adventure. Against the Queen's protests, King Brycen had allowed Arianna to learn horse back riding, archery, swordsmaship on horse and on foot, battle strategy and other things that mainly young men are inclined to do. Arianna learned a lot of those things along with her brother, she had always been his play mate. The Queen had later gotten over her daughter's wildness and grew used to it since Arianna could be perfectly proper when it was required of her and she would carry herself with dignity as a lady of her station would.
When Arianna turned eighteen, her father assigned her special bodyguards. They were called the Elite Knights and they protected the royal family. After what had happened in Athos, King Brycen had decided to create a special force that would be designed especifically to protect his family and they would be the finest and strongest soldiers he could find. The day after her birthday, her father went to the training grounds to check on the new soldiers and find new members for his Elite Knights. He would invite young men to try out the Elite test of endurance and if they passed, then they became part of the special force. Arianna had nagged her father to allow her to accompany her to the training grounds. She was curious as to who would be the new member's of the bodyguards. She stood by her father's side, observing the soldiers training with solemn eyes and respect.
