My Mom spoke to an ex-RN that she knows and two of my aunts. All four of them concur - Chris was slipped "a mickey". [Date rape drug. They suspect Ruhipnol.] Unfortunately, the only way to find out what he was slipped, is gone from his bloodstream. Then the ex-RN went on to tell us that they COULD have gotten all the blood they had needed from Chris by taking the IV out of his arm, putting the vials to the needle of the IV and sucking the blood out. My Mom remembers one of the CNAs suggesting that, and the doctor saying, "No. Just get what you can and do the two important tests." So unless we get a sudden influx in money we can't test the blood on Chris' coat from tha day to find out what was in his drink. We also found out that when the police officer yelled at me that Chris could too have been able to tell he was drinking vodka that vodka is the number one drink for underrage drinkers because it's VERY hard to detect. If you mix it with juice or water and a drug, you can't detect it at all. Just water and you can barely taste it, she said. So, yeah...and now my Mom on longer wants to lead an investigation because she's afraid the boys who did this in the first place will do worse to Chris if she does anything. And the school wants him back TOMORROW. They've cut his suspension in HALF. My Mom thinks they're covering the fact that when the janitor found Chris' blood lying around...he cleaned it up without telling the police until the following day. And the officer still hasn't called us back with what's going on with Chris' punishment.

The RN that my Mom knows and the one I know, as well as the ex-police officer we know all think the school, police, and hospital are covering the whole incident up as best as they can because they all screwed up and destroyed what should have been a criminal investigation. So now my little brother has to be treated like crap by the school and the police because of what someone did to him and their refusal to invesigate. If my mom would call the paper I bet she could call attention to this mess and get someone to investigate what they could. But, she doesn't want to have anything fall on Chris and make him hurt worse over everything. So we're stuck. *sigh*
