[As the strange men start to corner Bunny, she backs up into a wall, turning into panic mode.]
Bunny: "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!"
[No sooner than she screams, one of the men stares in pain as the sound of someone striking him in the back is heard as he falls limp on the ground. A shadow of a little guy with a dagger strikes and bounces off each of the other gang members, and lands for a quick second in front of Bunny before nimbly rebounding and returning to its thrower’s hand. Atop the truck, cloaked in shadow and revealed by lightning, is the Gangreen Gang, with billowing wet hair and each member glaring down at the fallen men.]
Bunny: "Wow, Thanks!"
[But then the Gang begins to run away.]
Bunny: "Hey, wait you guys! Come back!"
[Bunny begins to pursue them down the rainy dump. The Gang seeks refuge in an old broken down hideout. As Bunny runs up searching in their direction, Bunny spots them.]
Bunny: "Oh, there you guys are! Hi! What are your names? I’m Bunny!"
[The scene cuts back to Ace’s view. He is not in the scene.]
Ace: "Go away… please… don't look at us!"
Bunny: "But I just wanted to thank you for saving me from those weird gangsters back there. Man, that was amazing with the way how you threw your little friend! It was all whoosh, bang, crash, bam, boom! Seriously, you guys rock!"
[The scene slowly zooms in on Ace. A pair of sad, white eyes open.]
Ace: "No… please… We dare not listen. For us boys have been lashed by harsh tongues for too long. I'm sorry, my sweet one, we do NOT rock. For we boys are… dangerous monsters!"
[As he speaks the last word, a bolt of lightning briefly illuminates his green face.]
Bunny: "You guys aren't monsters. Monsters are evil. Besides, anybody who would save me like you guys did is SO not evil. You guys aren't monsters, just really dirty."
Arturo: "Please! You are just trying to make us feel better."
Ace: "Yes. Arturo, my friend, is right, for our pain is not for you to understand. Besides, how could you? For you are sweet and pure and innocent and BEAUTIFUL, and most certainly loved. (Bunny glances at herself) How could you know what it's like to be cast out into a world that only offers misery? How could YOU know what it’s like for people to fear and despise you for the very things that make you special? (Bunny's head drop in silent understanding.) Because you don’t fit in! Because you are just a bunch… OF FREAKS!"
[Ace emerges from his hideout while glaring down at Bunny with the rest of the Gang looking miserably at her, the door in hand, revealing the full extent of their status – a bunch of trouble-making criminals with green skin. Bunny doesn't even flinch – but looks at Ace in a sad but empathetic gaze.]
Bunny: "...Because…"
[Bunny pulls out the broken locket and lifts her head to show them her eyes the color that they truly are, much to the astonishment of Ace.]
Bunny: "… I'm a freak too."
Ace: "What amazing eyes!"
Bunny: "No! They’re terrible!"
Ace: (While turning around still glancing at her) "I’ll bet everyone hates them!"
Bunny: "Yeah!"
Ace: "And they hate you too..."
Bunny: (Glares at first but then her eyes show tears and she drops to the ground while speaking softly) "Yes…"
[Ace turns around, notices her state and comes over to her with an arm around her shoulders, the saddest look seen on his face before or since.]
Ace: "We're in the same boat. Though we don't look it, our minds (points at each member who have tears in their eyes) are full of brilliant criminal ideas!
Snake: "But will anyone lissssten?"
All: "Noooo..."
Ace: "Nothing in this world matters. So what’s the point?"
[With back slumped, Ace returns with the others to inside their hideout. Bunny walks up to the door.]
Bunny: "Oh boys, don’t be sad. My dad says that sometimes people get angry when they don’t understand something special or unique. And if you just give people time, they’ll start to understand your specialness. Besides..."
[Bunny goes up to Ace who has his head down, lifts his head up a little so she can see him better, takes off his shades and gets a really good look at him.]
Bunny: "...You don't look that bad to me. In fact, I see a really great, good-looking young guy who is just misunderstood like his friends... and me."
[Ace then looks at her with a little bit of shock but then he smiles very sweetly while his eyes soften. Then to Bunny's surprise, he gently embraces her in his warm arms.]
Ace: "...Thanks kid. Really. You don't know how long I always wanted to hear those words... Especially from someone like you..."
