Description - Rezmer is a big, muscular guy. He has a healthy tan from all his time in the sun, and his skin is rough. He doesn't have any stubble nor a beard. Rezmer's hair is a dusty reddish brown that is fine and pays attention to gravity. He keeps it cut short. Rez has a strong jaw and a square face. It's riddled with worry lines and such, making him look older than his years. His eyes are green. They draw comment from the few girls who try to court him. Rezmer is also covered in many scars from his battles. While many tend to go unnoticed, several stand out. They include the thick line around his left bicep from when he nearly lost the arm, a huge diagonal gash across his chest, and a puncture wound that went completely through his right knee. When he's stressed and tired, he walks with a slight limp. Rezmer usually wears heavy armor, though when takes the time to relax he'll change into a light leather jerkin and breeches.
Tekteks/Clothing - Use your imagination, please.
Rezmer is a noble, so high end clothing is a must. Or armor, if that's your thing. His armor is more functional than pretty, but Rezmer favors full plate.
Personality - Rezmer is a cool, controlling man. He doesn't trust easily, especially concerning the safety of himself and his charges. At first sight, he appears to be a brute, but there's a quick mind behind the muscles. He's also very protective of his friends and family, and can come across as overbearing more often than not. Rezmer has a soft spot for cats, as that is his family's chosen animal.
Character History - Rezmer was born the third child of the Lotu family, after his older sisters. He has several younger siblings as well: twin brothers, as well as another sister. Rezmer was always different from his siblings. The Lotu family is primarily a Mage one, with most members becoming mages in some way. Rezmer was set to follow that same path, but he didn't take to it well. He was an active child, preferring rough games to studying indoors. At first, his mother thought it was because he was a boy, but when his brothers were born, they were as different as night and day.
His parents didn't know what to do with the boy. Though he did well in his education, he didn't have a passion for it. The problem was solved when his uncle came to visit. Rezmer's uncle was a wandering swordsman, and he saw his nephew's potential. And so, when Rezmer was ten, he went off with his uncle to learn how to fight.
Rezmer returned just before his seventeenth birthday a changed man. Gone was the playful young boy. Rezmer had seen blood and death, and decided he wanted to prevent it. His uncle had him trained as a 'defender', as the man put it. It suit Rezmer perfectly, as the boy wanted to help his family, and how better than to protect them?
Rezmer proved himself time and again, heading out with cousins, aunts, and uncles to protect them from any dangers. He did well, managing to keep them all safe from harm. In the process, Rezmer grew prideful, believing he was invincible.
Unfortunately, his streak couldn't last forever.
Rezmer's older sister, Shilana, enlisted his help on a trip to the local ruins. He happily obliged despite the warning from his parents about the dangers. Rezmer believed he could take care of anything the ruins could hold. And in fact, the typical monsters; skeletal warriors and undead wizards were easy for the defender. The problem came with the necromancer responsible for the undead. Rezmer was unprepared for the fight against the necromancer, a lich of no little power. He managed to escape with his life, but his sister was not so lucky.
Rezmer's parents were disappointed in their son, and mad with grief over the loss of their daughter. They didn't banish Rezmer outright, but they made his life difficult when he was home. Rezmer took another extended trip, and while relations were eventually repaired, things were never the same between him and his parents. It wasn't just the schism from his sister's death. Rezmer himself changed. He swore revenge against the necromancer, and always kept the lich's demise as a goal in anything he did. He became much cooler and more controlling. While he had been humbled by the necromancer, his pride in his family and his ability was still high. All of these factors make Rezmer a fairly unlikable man.
Equipment - Rezmer has a full set of plate mail and a variety of hammers in all sizes. He excels in blunt weaponry, and has a passing understanding of most melee weapons.
Personal history - Rezmer is a fairly old character of mine, based on my Shaiya character of the same name. He's been used a few times, and he's growing.
