Mood~~Nihongo-ized
Oh mi gosh, today was fuuuuuuuun xd . I went to a Japanese buffet for a late graduation party of my friends (like UBER late; we graduated in June whee ). I was picked up at around four o' clock today, and just now got back home. When we got there, we had a wait a bit for everybody else to come, but once they did, we went straight to eating. There was sooooo much freakin' food there; I ended trying a bunch of new things today. The crawfish was good (once I knew how to pick out the part I could eat); tasted a bit like shrimp. Then I tried... was it clam or... Well, some sort of mollusk-type animal. It tasted sweet, but it was good. I also tried oyster, but ughhhh... xp THAT was DISGUSTING. I practically puked. But other then that, everything else was good.
After my friend's family had left, we went to a Japanese festival a little bit down the street from the buffet. It was a celebration of summer, I believe. There was even more Japanese food there, along with sweets, toys, and even kimonos (I actually bought one, but it's a bit too long. It's a dark blue with white flowers, and I got a light pink obi with it 3nodding ). In the middle were these huge taiko drums on a pedestal-looking platform and a huge circle made of chalk around it. We danced in that circle along with a gaggle of other people. It was like a bunch of traditional Japanese dances, like the "Coalminer's Dance" and the "something Mambo"; I forgot the name, but I liked that one blaugh . Oo, there was also a Fan Dance, too. But I wish we were able to keep the fans, because right after that it got really warm. We pretty much danced the night away under these pretty paper lanterns.
Once that was done, we headed back home. But not before my friends convinced me to try a Tommy burger. I had never been to a Tommy's, but now I'm addicted to it, more or less biggrin . A Tommy cheeseburger with everything on it. Yummeh heart .
THEN I was finally able to go home. Goodness I'm completely stuffed now and my mom says that I smell a bit like chili (pro'bly from the Tommy burger). But whatev, it was worth it. 3nodding
