Okay, let's start with the first.
HALO 1: Considering the year it was made, Halo: CE for the Xbox was considered a "revolution in gaming history." It had good graphics at the time, a great storyline, and a "unique" weapons cache. Since then, It has turned into the standard of all FPS games. At the time, I believed the hype to the game, taking in one flaw as well which happened to be true, The voice acting is rather slow. Sometimes broken. I was mostly disappointed in the enemies, however. No matter the difficulty, the enemies stood in the open shooting at you. The only differences were your health, their health, and how many shots they took between breaks. On easy, they were bumbling idiots made of marshmallows firing skittles at you. Normal: All plasticness, including their brains. Heroic: fridges with aluminum bullets that fire wisely [for once. Legendary: Kamikazee tank-aliens firing magnum-like bullets like maniacs. Sadly, they have infinite ammo, so even if you find an impenetrable spot they can't get to or shoot through, you'll be stuck there. The only good of the sounds in the game would have to be the music and its placement in each part of the game. Very few people use stealth in the storyline, so they hear the most of it. I wish I could say the same about the quality of the other two, but I cannot. Not yet at least. This game of the 3 has the best soundtrack and placement. Simple as that. Then and now, I hated the graphics. They were blocky and "Bleh". More often than not glitchy, too.
Halo 2: The one and only upside to this game would be the drastically improved graphics. Even then I could see the angles in each bit, but the general picture looked alright. The story was more or less crappy. It pulled what I call an "Eldest" and took you through the story between two people, the Arbiter and Master Chief. Although, they did it horribly. And had both characters barely escape death thanks to a third party. Basically everyone knows of Gravemind, so I can't call it a spoiler if I say he took control of the second [and third] prophet. It's quite pathetic that the designers pulled cheap tricks like those. Oh, and the dual wielding? Also "innovative" appatently. I say it's not. I haven't played EVERY game, so I can't say which precisely gave you the ability to wield 2 weapons at a time first. I do know, however, Perfect Dark did the same with most of their 150+ weapons. The enemies are basically the same, except for their last-minute addition, the Brutes. They're basically big, hairy Elites with the "instinct" to go berserk when they're the last brute. Not that smart when you can pick them off from a half a level away.
HALO 3: Yet again, they pulled an "Eldest," but through the view of ONE person. [spoiler alert for those who've never read the book] Just like at the end of "Eldest," the beginning of Halo 3 has the two protagonists meeting up. Before. The first. Level. In Co-op, they would be stuck together through the entire game from beginning to end. Single player, however, splits them up constantly. Usually in the hardest of points. Sadly, that means that you have no invinci-noob to take the heat. Again, the best part of the game is the graphics. At the first few playthrough, everything was basically like the commercials. Dolls. Figurines. But moving. Yet again: crappy story. Crappy game length, too. Nine levels about the length of one Halo 1 level each. And the ending was a cop-out, no less. They had you driving for your life in the end of this one, too. Except you could take your time the whole way, so long as you never got out of your warthog. The music... Boy. Either they underdid it or overdid it. But however it was done, it ended up awkward. The sound-effects basically never changed from the first except for the Brute vehicles. Quite sad, too, because it sounds like they muffled a vacuum on rocks with some kind of foam. Yet again, the A.I. of both parties is bad. Very bad. The good part about it would be they finally take cover and DODGE grenades. ... Yeah
