Today I had my first exam in the GCSE exam season. It was my russian speaking test. It went pretty good, it wasn't perfect but who does get it perfect? No one. So I'm satisfied.
I have decided that I will give a blow by blow account of each exam in my journal, and it will be precious for me to look at when I'm older in.....four months time. So here goes....
My speaking test wasn't until 9:05, and I didn't have to come to school until 10-15 mins before that time. So I could get ready nice and slowly in the morning.
I went up to the third floor and waited at one of the desks until it was my turn. I could see ellie having her test through the little window in the door and I could hear muffled russian.
I didn't do much in my preparation time. I just took deep breaths and drank water and ran through my answers a few times in my head.
Ellie came out and sounded fairly upbeat but then THE LADY told her to be quiet, so ellie left and wished me luck.
Mrs Coatman invited me in and said that she...."might have to ask me about 'Education'. But don't worry" I felt really nervous, obviously but I DIDN't break down, well done Kim. That made things a lot easier.
So I started my "Town" presentation, and rattled it off whilst looking out the window. After talking about "My town" we talked about "My home" and the dreaded "Education". I wasn't that bad. I got all three tenses in and some opinions, which is the main thing. I I think the conversation sounded quite natural (I don't know for sure though).
At the end, Mrs Coatman shouted Excellent! and then she had to wipe that from the tape, because it was still recording XD
I was relieved once I got it all over and done with. Next exam: French speaking test, tomorrow. gonk
