Chapter 3: Warm Welcome
Abee followed Tokio and Numb outside and was astonished at how many clones there were just like him. They seemed to notice his mere existence. Abee guessed this from the other clones smiling and waving at him. "Looks like you're popular already, huh Newbie?" Numb smirked at him. "Ah, I-I guess..." Abee said nervously, tugging at the hem of his shirt.
From across the courtyard they heard an angry screeching sound. Abee jumped just a bit when this was heard. "Don't worry." Numb smiled. "This happens all the time. Ren's a hothead." "AND ANOTHER THING-" Ren shouted, his eyes practically on fire and steam shooting from his ears. Suddenly, Tokio's hands grabbed the sides of his head. Ren took a few medatative breaths and relaxed.
"Thanks, Tokio." Ren sighed. "Yeah, thanks, Tokio." the poor victim, Cho, sighed in releif. Abee tilted his head in curiosity. These three clones had very varied appearences. Sure they were still blond and dark-eyed, but Ren wore his hair in a long, low ponytail, Cho had his in a small ponytail almost like Numb's and the third one that tried in vain to calm Ren's nerves, Nik, had his in a shoulder length bob. How different could these clones be from each other?
"Ok." Tokio said calmly with his hand on Ren's shoulder, sounding a little like a counseler. "What happened now?" Ren gave Tokio a look that said 'I think you know what happened.' "Oh, Cho's just being Cho." Ren sighed. "And you know how Cho is." Cho teasingly stuck his tounge out at Ren, almost triggering another fit of rage. Nik placed his hand on Cho's shoulder and said, "Now, Cho."
Abee smiled sweetly, waiting to be acknowledged. "Well, guys." Tokio said, placing his hand on the middle of Abee's back. "We'd like to introduce you to the new guy, Abee." Abee looked up at Tokio and smiled. His touch and voice felt very kind, friendly and safe. Cho eagerly extended his hand to Abee and said, "Nice to meet ya, new guy." Ren bowed deeply and said, "It's a pleasure to meet you." Nik merely waved widely and said, "Hiya!"
Abee smiled sweetly and said, "Hi. N-nice to meet you." Numb laughed and said, "No need to be nervous, kid. It's ok." "So do you want a tour?" Nik asked with a smile. Suddenly they were interrupted with a light tune played over the PA. "Oh, that means we should gather at the Gladiator Pit." Tokio said, leading Abee towards a giant stadium. "Wh-Wha!?" Abee stammered. "Relax." Numb said, placing his hand on Abee's shoulder. "No one dies in the Gladiator Pit. Sure they come close, but no one dies." Abee paused to think this over. "O-Ok!" he nodded. As he followed the others, he could've sworn that he saw Numb wave towards a blond girl that waved towards him from over the wall.
