~chapter 10~

I woke up curled into a ball in the middle of a field, wondering where i am, until i remembered the earlier night. ok, which current leads back to the mountain... I stretched my wings and took a brief wake-up flight to clear my head. I dropped back down to the clearing, seeing the sword that Nysicia left me might as well keep it... i picked it up, belted it and took off. I floated with the morning doves carelessly for a couple of hours, until i saw an outcropping and figured that was where i am to go. I landed and walked in, calm as day, when i heard a shuffling. i hear the quiet jingling of chainmail I silently drew and readied my sword, lest anything happen. My attention instantly focused on a disturbance in the air close by someone is getting ready to attack . I charged in the direction of the noise, only to strike a large sword half-way. "who or what are you?" my question was concise and easily understood, but they didn't respond. They turned around, pulling the sword through the air swiftly, filling the gap with centrifugal force, and aimed hard for my left ribs. I blocked it with the flat of my blade, and did a quick strike towards their temple. "I reiterate, who are you? why are you in Nysicia's cave?" This time, i sensed surprise. i heard a commanding, yet quiet feminine voice out of the darkness "...Nysicia; i haven't heard his name is a long time. how is my old master?" master? this person must be bluffing, lets test them.. "now... he is fine, i like his dark green eyes.. they are pretty." we had ceased to aattack, but i was on guard if she were ever to attack.
"He doesn't have any sight any more, there s a long scar running across his eyes. i didn't tell her that he had been blind... OR the scar running across his eyes. "so tell me, who are you? and do i know you? My name is Ildecia." She paused for a minute, and then i heard a ring, a sword hitting the floor she had dropped her blade! she is defenseless, i COULD kill her now; i knew i shouldn't "Ildecia, whats your last name?" she didn't ask offensively, or in any way imposingly; i think she was genuinely curious or amazed "... my last name is Archyos-" she started to laugh; chuckling at first, then into a full-hysterical laugh filling the cave with booming convulsions of sound. "I haven't heard that name in a long time.. how long has it been? fifteen years?" she sighed, then walked near the mouth of the cave, slowly revealing what she looked like.
What i saw then will take my breath away every time i remember it. She had Long, flowing pure black hair, down the length of her back, obscuring her wings. She raised her wings, so that i may see. It was a shroud of midnight. Her eyes were a penetrating purple, faintly radiating power. She wore a dress, made of the softest silks familiar? long and flowing, Black as the midnight sky, with small diamonds scattered among the cloth, Like the luminescent diamonds in the sky. She wore a simple silver locket, inside it, lurked the secrets of the night and apparently my relations with her.

"Oh, by the way Ildecia, I'm your elder sister, i was banished from the family in order to maintain the purity. Anyway, follow me if you want to make it back to Nysicia's cavern." I followed her speechless, because while i left, i read a sentence Carved into the cave wall, by different sword strikes, spelling out an ultimatum, It was written so harshly, yet.. so beautiful...
