Yuuki walked beside Kaname, each step took her farther from the Cross Academy. The sandy grains left behind by the Level-E Vampires were scattered in small mounds on the long staircase that led from the academy to the town, each mound the remains of one monster.
They walked down the stone steps, the immature Hanabusa and Ruka ran down the steps, trying to get to the bottom first. In the end, Akatsuki had won the pleasure of holding Yuuki's suitcase, the two other nobles couldn't choose who to take care of it, so to settle the case, Akatsuki simply took the suitcase from them, much to their dismay.
They reached the bottom of the stairs soon, only to find Hanabusa and Ruka fighting over who got to the bottom first. Giggling, Yuuki tried to calm them down, and although it wasn't very easy, they eventually stopped arguing and simply glared at each other.
"Jeez," Akatsuki muttered, swinging his own small bag over his shoulder.
They walked into the town, the vampire hunters and the assiciates of the vampire hunter society looked at them. The humans had their hands on their gun and weapons, just in case anything were to happen. Only a few people didn't make an effort to avoid them, and those, were the few vampires wandering the city. The vampires bowed to Yuuki and Kaname as they walked by, their eyes afraid to meet with the powerful purebloods. Yuuki, unlike Kaname, who didn't even spare a glance, smiled weakly at the vampires and continued to walk past them.
Something at the back of her mind was nagging Yuuki, and although she tried to push the thought aside several times, it only came back a few moments later. She had forgotten something, and she didn't know what. However, Yuuki could feel that it was important. Much too important to be forgotten.
She stopped walking and sighed. What could I have forgotten?
Kaname turned to his beloved sister with concern. "Yuuki? Is everything okay?" he asked, his voice soft and velvety.
Aidou broke his glare to Ruka and leaned over Yuuki's shoulders. "Are you tired? I'll carry you, Yuuki-sama." Someone pierced his thoughts, he didn't even have to look to see who it is. "That is, of course, unless Kaname-sama would rather carry you." he added on nervously.
"It's nothing," Yuuki said, shaking her head. "I think I forgot something important at the academy though, but I don't want us to be late, the sun's already in the sky..." she looked up, the rays of the sun pierced her eyes more then it did when she was human.
Kaname smiled. "It's alright, we have time. Would you like to go back? We can always find catch another flight." Another day meant another chance of Zero taking Yuuki away from him. He loved Yuuki much more then that damned Level-E vampire, so why does Yuuki care so much?
Yuuki smiled at her brother, and started dash back to the academy. Kaname grimaced, but turned to face the academy again anyways. Akatsuki, Ruka, and Hanabusa could do nothing but follow him back.

A silver gun was clutched in his hands. Slowly, Zero brought the gun up and pointed it to where he saw Yuuki push the Day Class girls away. The whistle was pressed to her lips, and she struggled to keep them away from the door. Biting down on his lips, he slowly pulled the trigger, but found that his finger wouldn't budge. Great.
He couldn't even shoot a hallucination of Yuuki, so how can he kill her when they meet next time? She was too precious for Zero to kill... Although the Vampire Yuuki "ate" the Yuuki he loved, a part of him, a very small part, still believed that his Yuuki was still somewhere within the body of the damn pureblood.
Zero dropped his hand. He loosened his grip on Bloody Rose, and his looked down. His silver hair draped over his extremely sad eyes. Everyone he really loved has gone, every person he showed affection to left him alone in the world. His mother, his father, his beloved brother... and now his Yuuki. They were all stolen from him from a vampire. He pitied himself for ever being born, for his life held nothing for him anymore. Absolutely nothing. He had turned into a monster himself. A damned bloodthirsty monster.
He raised the gun and pointed it at his chest. Yuuki couldn't kill him anymore. He doubted that Yuuki still cares about him. The girl he loved is now a vampire, and the girl he loved belongs to one too.
What did he care if she had forgotten him? What did he care if she turned into a vampire? It didn't change anything. She still loves Kaname. Still had more love for Kaname than himself. And he's selfish enough to think that she loved him all along.
Zero pulled the trigger.
A bang resounded in the academy.
