[this is part of a story role play that I created for an altered version of the character Alma Wade from the FEAR series, I do not own FEAR or Alma, I am merely using the character.][[All errors will be fixed when the piece of writing is complete]]
Waking Terror Pt. 1
Drifting between sleep and a wakeful state Alma rubbed her eyes, things became clearer but only for a moment. It had been a long plane ride from Heathrow too DC and she had fallen asleep the instant her head hit a pillow. Her dreams were like they always were, confusing and very dark, almost like glimpses into her previous life. Unfortunately nothing made any sense and the only thing that she could ever discern is the overwhelming anger and hatred. She stood up slowly and stretched, from the window she could see the sun just starting to rise, it's rays gently touched her skin, making her feel warm, a feeling she never took for granted. Walking over to the dresser, she picked up the clothes she had laid out the night before, her BDU's were a plain green in true military fasion thery were very plain the only interesting thing on them was the round patch of the hilt of a sword with the word 'Forseti' stitched vertically into the sword. It didn't take long to get dressed, it took longer to lace up her boots. She had just finished getting dressed when a loud knock banged the door, it made Alma jump, a muffled voice could be herd through the door "Rise and shine sleepy, time to move out" this was undoubtabley the sergeant. She walked over to the door and opened it "Well good, you're already dressed" she rolled her eyes "Now c'mon we've got a breifing, Sykes is already there" she nodded and followed him, shutting the door behind her. The trip to the HQ hadn't been a long one but it had been long enough for her to eat a bagel. When they walked in, two gentlemen, both of whom were bigger then the sergeant, a task not easily done approached them, one of them spoke "right this way please..." the other motioned for them to follow. Because of the two men, they didn't have to go through the security a thing she wished they'd had yesterday. After several long hallways of boring and drab colors they came to a door, the man who spoke opened the door and motioned them in. The room contained a long table and several monitors, all displaying various information. Private.Sykes and Jessica stood near a single monitor while many other people none of whom she recognized gathered around others. The sergeant moved to where Sykes and Jessica were and Alma followed "whats the situation?" Sykes pressed a few buttons on a remote "As you know early yesterday morning a Hannible-3 sattelite detected a large area of interference, they suspected it could just be degredation of signal but everything checked out okay. After running various scans they determined the interference to be telesthetic in origin, so they handed over all scans and information over to FEAR, which then proceded to call the institute for possible back up." The sergeant nodded "And now we're here...doing what exactly?" Sykes fiddled with the controls some more before responding "We're waiting for a status report from the FEAR team on the ground." He nodded again and started to move away "I'm gonna find the nearest pot of coffee, be right back" everyone nodded as he left. Alma looked around the room, she wondered if any of them has any connection to the Auburn incident, if any of them knew who she was, and what she had done. She knew that thanks to the timing of Sam she had been stoped from harming her son or his remaining teammates, but she hadn't heard a thing about them other than they survived. She had thought about trying to access the information via telepathic links, but that was against institute policy so she put the thought out of her mind. It was awkward for her to be here, she had been the source of a lot of destruction and even more pain. Her eyes scanned the room looking for some clue as to whether or not they knew, it became quite evident that they didn't. She turned towards the monitor, as she did she caught just a faint glimps of a small girl. She looked back to where the girl was, she was just standing there, she reminded Alma of herself, only the girl had near white hair, and the girl didn't give off a negative aura, it was odd, Alma couldn't take her eyes off of her. The two were locked in place, staring into one anothers eyes. Alma could here faint whispers, questions but she couldn't make out what they were, then everything went still, the girl spoke words that seemed to echo "help me..." Alma started to respond but was interupted "Whatcha looking at?" Alma looked over at Jessica who had asked the question "I was..." she looked over at where the girl had been, she had disappeared, looking back she saw the confused looks on her friends faces "nevermind..." she took one last look back before returning to looking at the monitor, nothing. After awhile the sergeant returned with coffee in hand "Took some searchin' but I finally found some" Jessica shook her head "All that training and it takes you twenty minutes to find coffee...oh and wheres ours?" Alma stiffled a laugh "Very funny Jess, why don't you use your powers and manifest yourself a cup"Jessica rolled her eyes "Shh! we're recieving a transmission from the FEAR team" Sykes turned up the volume [Transmission begin]*static*Unable....find....source...interference....*static* resistence....controlled....need...inforcements....*static*...Back-up.....eed...help...*static*[transmission end] Alma looked over at the sergeant who was calmy sipping his coffee, Sykes fiddled with the buttons some more "There's nothing after that, everything goes silent" Jessica turned towards the sergeant "What do we do?" the sergeant took another sip of his coffee then set the cup down "We move out, our job is to reinforce the FEAR team on the ground if necisarry so that's what we're gonna do."
