((Refer to the picture of the piano from the previous entry.))
After returning from the park, Will and Sophie climbed up the creaky wooden stairs and back into the room. The dust had settled, and the breeze had blown the papers into a corner across the room. The whole place reminded Sophie of a scene from a movie. All that was missing was....
"Hey, let's open the window open more, that'll help clear the dust out of the way and we'll have fresher air in here." Will said, making his way over to the only window. He opened the window, and a big gust of wind blew in. Papers went flying, along with more dust.
"A piano!" Sophie shouted. "It looks insanely old. I wonder if it still works." Sophie silently walked over to it, and pressed on some of the keys. Will pulled over a box for Sophie to sit on, as she started playing. Will recognized the tune immediately. He started singing along, and then Sophie, suprised by his singing, joined in.
If I could fall into the sky, do you think would pass me by? Oh 'cause you know I'd walk a thousand miles just to see you. And I- I drown in your memories. I-I Don't....
Sophie stopped suddenly. She had another song in recollection. She started playing it. Will didn't know what it was this time as she started singing.
He drowns in his dreams An exquisite extreme I know He's as damned as he seems And more heaven than a heart could hold And if I try to save him My whole world would cave in It just ain't right Lord, it just ain't right
She stopped one more time, and began playing one more song, again singing along with it. Will sat down by her and started playing the notes too. Sophie stepped up and sang with his notes.
Days are going faster than I ever could keep up Overwhelming, the bed I've tried to make so perfectly I surrender my hands beyond my head You read me
There's a harvest buried in the bottom of the sky And I'm thinking what will then become of you, i Analyzing your moments when you're here Unrepeating
Then, they had to stop. "I don't know the rest Sophie." Will looked down at the old keys of the piano. Sophie smiled, and leaned against the piano, making it move foward. She screamed and jumped. Will was knocked off of the box out of fright. "Jeez Soph! First you knock all the boxes and try to make my lungs fill with dust, now you try to cause a heart attack and make a piano fall on me! What's next?!" He laughed as she put her hand out to help him up. He brushed off the dust on his jeans and moved toward the other boxes. "Let's finish a few more unloading and then come back tomorrow okay? We'll have the rest of the evening to be at home huh? I'm sure there' lots for you to do there." Will looked down and studied his shoes.
"Actually, I don't have anything to do at home. You can come over, my parents are at work you know. We could study for school, since we're doing charity work for them, we might as well spend the rest of the time studying. Nothing better to do really." Sophie looked at him, her offer still clinging to her lips. "Umm, sure. I guess so." Will said, looking up from his shoes and grabbing a box. "Here."
Sophie took the box from him and set it among the others. She started humming another tune as she opened the box and went through it. Will heard her quiet humming and ran over to the piano and started playing it. He shouted the lyrics in tune as Sophie stood there, astonished by him. He gave a smile her way and finished the piece. He stood up and looked in the box Sophie opened. Insdie were, as guessed, more papers.
