It was sunset when I arrived at camp. I got off the bus and it look like everyone had something on their mind. A few of us found our way to the major's office to get our orders for the next day. I walked through the door and saw that the major wasn't there. Dazed, I looked around and something on the desk caught my eye. It was a picture of the major's family. It seemed like forever as I just stared at that photograph, thinking of my own family back home before summer turned to fall. It was winter now, but the day had been warm and the evening seemed to get windier every hour that past. Behind me, there was a crash as the door closed.
"Greetings Major."
"Hello. what's your name?"
"Jacob Ironheart, sir." I said quickly.
"Ironheart? Interesting name."
"Thank you sir. My ancestors were said to be strong willed."
"I expect great things from you then." He said with a confident tone.
