The lights above me were foggy and out of place like trying to look through murky water. The sounds were no better. They all mixed together into a big mix of deafening noise. None of which making sense. All I knew was that I hurt. Not just one pain, and it was nothing like a headache. My whole body ached. I wanted to scream, tell the people around me that I was in pain. One voice came at me like a semi-truck. "This wasn't supposed to happen!" Someone choked somewhere near me. What wasn't supposed to happen?! What am I missing? "Just leave. I'll take care of her," a new voice soothed, as though that person couldn't deal with the sobs. "What are you going to do with her?" The voice choked out again, a sob shaking their voice. "Don't worry about it. Go home." With that I shrunk back into the murky waters of darkness. The cold fire of darkness licked at the dim light, until I was in complete darkness, the sounds becoming a slight buzz, then finally settling into nothing. Everything around me was like air, I couldn't even feelground below me, or the car I had been driving in with Melody. Melody! Who is she? I tried to match name with face. Melody Phillips. Right, she has chin-length brown hair and blue eyes, which she hidbehind glasses. She has a soft voice, and how could I forget her? We'd been friends since the beginning of 7th grade. It was now 10th grade. 3 years. I wasriding with someone else too. Bianca Lucas. My thoughts became baffled at trying to remember who she was. Bianca. I remember her a little.Long brown hair. Freckles. Brown eyes. I remember her now. She's nice, a little hyper at times. Pain erupted in my stomach and sides. I tried to scream, but nothing came out, my mouth wouldn't even open, like it was stitched closed. I tried to look down, but nothing would move. My thoughts and memory crumbled and shattered. Leaving me in the cruel, cold darkness.
