As a child, did you ever get a chance to watch the Disney Animation entitled "Anastasia"?
As you can see, I have recently been interested in the Romanov family's murder on the eve of July 17th, 1918. I have found out a lot of things and information about the family and I have a list showing the comparison from the cartoon and the actual information on the characters. I have listed four comparisons.
Comparisons:
1. In the end of the movie, Anastasia ended up with a man named Dmitri. However, in real life, Dmitri was a man in the army who was somewhat in love with Anastasia's older sister, Olga Nikolaevna Romanov. Dmitri died in a war a few months before the Romanov murder.
2. Anastasia in the cartoon had a puppy (I forgot the name though!). I reality, that puppy belonged to Another of Anastasia's sisters, Tatiana Nikolaevna Romanov. The puppy was given to her by a young man in the navy which Tatiana cared for as a part time nurse. The young man died shortly after the Romanov murder I think. And the puppy died as well along with the Romanovs on July 17.
3. One of the biggest mistake ever made was that they were never raided in their palace in Moscow! At that time, during the revolution, they were being kept safe (from my point of view, being held hostage) by the Bolsheviks in a house in Yekentinburg just outside the skirts of Russia. And that is where the were shot. They were shot in the basement of the Yekentinburg house.
4. The last and very biggest mistake was...
NONE of the Romanovs survived that night. Well, at first, there was speculation that Grand Duchess Anastasia along with her younger brother, Tsaverich Alexei, might have escaped or survived the massacre that night because when the bodies were found, there were only nine. Nicholas II, Tsarina Alexandra, Olga, Tatiana, four of thier servants, and another body that could be Anastasia or Maria. The bodies of Alexei and either one of the Grand Duchesses were not found. It had been stated that they were burned. However, last July 2007, burnt remains near the burial sight of the Romanovs were found. And last August 2008, it had been confirmed that it was Alexei and Maria who was burned meaning that Anastasia was properly buried with the rest of her family. The Romanovs were canonized as Passion Bearers of the Russian Orthodox Church last 2000. The burial of the remains of Alexei and Maria are still to be discussed when they are to join the resting place of thier family in St. Peter's Cathedral.
