(This part may sound a little sexist but you don't really hear guys saying this so...) Say you're @ school and you do something funny but stupid. You and your friends laugh, but there always seems to be th@ same girl standing there saying in the exact same voice every time : "Jeez, you're so imm@ure." Th@'s actually kinda wh@ got me on this topic. I personally (I never really show it 'cause I never really need to.. =P ) am very m@ure. I know when to be serious with people, when they want you to be serious with them and how to handle situ@ions th@ aren't always the most expected thing. When dealing with people, the first thing you want to do (if you really do care about them [and you really should care about everyone, {yes, even those people th@ piss you off.}]) is sincerely let them know th@ you really do care about their opinion. Always, (even if you disagree) look @ their side of wh@ever it is you're discussing, arguing about, etc.. Then from there is where you have to (not harshley) try to convince whoever th@ they're incorrect or th@ you disagree.
Anyways back to th@ one girl. SHE is not m@ure. The reason I say this is because she is the one who fails to realize th@ the differnce I said before (m@urity and social acceptabilty) is in fact very ture. SHE is not m@ure, she is simply boring. Plain and simple. It's is VERY much possible to have a more child-like sense of humor and be m@ure with people.(Don't get me wrong, this is isn;t true all the time. Maybe she is a@ure and they guy doing the funny thing isn't but if she doesn't realize th@ you can be childish and m@ure then she is in fact imm@ure.)
The second thing I want to point out is a way to tell if people can't handle people in a m@ure and respectable way is if they critisize (is th@ spelled right?) Even the smallest thing you do. Everyone critisizes. Everyone. However, critisizing should only be nesseccary to help the person and the people around them. Not to shoot them down.
I was talking to another friend of mine. They say "My favorite thing to do is [I can't remember exactly wh@ they said. XP]" And I respond with the stupid little joke: "My favorite thing to do is girls." Obviously not serious. Just a stupid little joke. However, they respond by saying: "Wow, I didn't realize one of my friends had 7th grade humor." But not jokingly like I was. They were totally serious.
The thing I was saying earlier (sorry my thoughts are kinda split up when typing though I try to put my thoughts into as logical an order as possible) about the chilishness is (now th@ I really though about it) kinda of wh@ I live by. I turn 16 11 days from now. Most people are going crazy about getting their lisences and getting jobs. I believe (unfortun@ely I can't make points because this my opinion not fact.. DX [I guess the rest of this is opinion too but I'd have to think th@ most people would agree with my points if they didn't already by now..]) th@ most people are trying to grow up too fast. I honestly don't care about getting by lisence right now. Sure, it'd be cool to drive but why rush? Doesn't anyone else (not to insult those who already agree with me) realize the miseries of getting old? We want to work now for our own money and stuff but we've only got about (if you're my age and if you're reading this you probably are..) 2 years 'til we actually HAVE to work. I realize we all have to grow up and move out eventually, I just don't see the point of rushing it.. These are the last few years of your life were you won't have to be working (and aren't totally old). I say enjoy them. I believe (I want to say "this is" but unfortun@ely it's only my opinion, a strong one though if I may say so myself.) th@ this is the m@ure way to look @ life. Well.. maybe not the m@ure way but the more open-minded way. If you only care about being m@ure (I told you I'd lead back to my original topic!) for the sake of looking, sounding and feeling older instead of for the well-being of yourself and those around you, I'd say th@'s about the least m@ure thing you can do. And I'm stickin' to it.
