February is here, its winter air still lingering through the town,
but you've promised with the first light of spring, you'd be back at home again
When spring comes, we'll run with the wind and fill our lungs.
and when spring goes, we'll turn with the leaves our backs to it.
April's reached us now, its constant rain is bringing us down,
but we'll not yet forget the promise made so many nights ago.
When spring came, we ran with the wind and filled our lungs.
when spring goes, we'll turn with the leaves our backs to it.
I'm not leaving if you're not coming home.
we can't go on, if you're not coming home.
When spring came, we ran with the wind, and filled our lungs.
now spring's gone, and summer is here, but you're not home,
no you're not home.

I think this song is about two best friends. One moved far away. The two friends made a promise to meet each other in spring, back in their hometown... The one left behind dreamed that their promise came true, but when they woke up, spring was gone. And their friend never came back. Their friend didn't die; they forgot about the promise, about their best friend and they made a new life.
