The gothic veil represents the blindness and darkness in life. How it covers our eyes so we cannot see what's really happening. It's in all black to represent death. The death of life, the death of us. The heartstrings are there to represent that they can be tugged on, and it chokes you. It is tied around your neck in aa untieable knot to hold you together, but tugs at you until it chokes you. There's no untying it, the knot will just get tighter everytime you attempt. The shadow spirit shows your inner soul. It's watching over you, it's like the reaper. It's watching and making note of every move you make, getting bigger and darker with each mistake. The cities represent the hope we all have. Hopes, dreams, wishes. They slowly catch fire when they are burned down and die. They get smaller, first starting bigger than you, then getting smaller and smaller. They burn, die, and all you're left with is a small black circle around you. Ash. Your dreams.
