As Damian approached our radiant mother, being the prankster that he is, he made very good use of of the "talents" he posessed. Little did he know, mothers really do have eyes in the back of their heads, so even with his unnatural speed. she saw her end coming long before t reached her.
I don't think he ever forgave himself for what he did next.
He took everything away.
There are many things she will never do again.
Feel.
Eat.
Breathe.
Sleep.
LIVE.
Watching in slow motion for the tenth time, I witnessed that fateful moment in which the single slip of the fangs cost our beloved mother her life, her soul, and her very existance. Trying to fathom the truth. To separate it from layers of lies. I silently contemplated my memory. The truth left untouched. (Ch. 2) "Elena!" the sharp trill of Ms. Iero's voice shattered my sleep. In that instant, I awoke with unrestrained loathing in my eyes. It was not the teacher's doing, but my own mind's that caused me to react this way. Scanning my brain for cover-ups, i settled on my best puppy-dog face and a murmured apology. Ms. Iero saw me as one of her top students even though i should have been the not-so-proud owner of a failng grade in her class, and many others. It was a similar situation with Damian. We just seemed to have a certain charm about us... As I looked around, I noticed something strange... Everyone was crowded around me! well that seemed normal, but as the lesson continued, the many students seemed oblivious to the fact that i looked very uncomfortable.
Srtangely, the teacher didn't seem to notice their behavior, or if she did, she mustnot have minded very much.
I blinked.
They were gone.
Everything was gone.
Did I ever open my eyes?
Then it all went black.
"ELENA?!"
A voice in the distance.
Damian.
As i stumbled, blindly, towards the point from which the beautiful sound was eminating, I began to fall.
Down.
Down.
Down.
Down.
I fell for such a lengthy amount of time that when i hit, the ground gave-way and the veil was ripped from my eyes.
I don't know how i got there, i just know that as my eyes popped open as a result of my rude, but invited, awakening. the onnly thing that mattered was that Damian was there.
After I had confirmed this single shred of truth, I gave a deep sigh and hardly noticed the stuffy hospital room I would be calling home for a very long time before i drifted back into the unknown.
