Trying not to breath
Staying as still as you can
You lay there
Upon your bed
Hoping your parents won't notice
It's dark and late
And they came to check on you
Your muscles tighten as you try so hard not to make a sound
They smile
Thinking your asleep
A small whimper escapes from your lips
Did your parents hear?
No
The whimper was only faint
Lost somewhere between you and where your parents stand
They leave the room closing the door behind them
You weep long sobs of sorrow
Wishing they could hear the pain
Staying as still as you can
You lay there
Upon your bed
Hoping your parents won't notice
It's dark and late
And they came to check on you
Your muscles tighten as you try so hard not to make a sound
They smile
Thinking your asleep
A small whimper escapes from your lips
Did your parents hear?
No
The whimper was only faint
Lost somewhere between you and where your parents stand
They leave the room closing the door behind them
You weep long sobs of sorrow
Wishing they could hear the pain
