Jamie Kinn is a teen and leads a pretty normal life. She loves to read, and write. Yet something was different, she was a victim of child abuse. Her parents had recently been divorced, her mother used to have a drug problem so the judge ruled that she stay with her father. It was alright at first but..then her father started drinking. He would get annoyed at any noise such as the doorbell, the dog barking, birds tweeting, Jamie's Voice. She had been only 9 when it started. It started out as only a spanking. But then as time progressed and her father's drinking worsened the beating began leaving bruises, cuts, and the occasional scar. She couldn't sleep she began to fall behind in school...This made her father even angrier.
"Your worthless!!" He would scream at her as she cried.
"It's your fault!" she had said once. She learned from that mistake with a large scar on her back. Jamie didn't tell a single soul because she didn't want to live in a foster home.
She woke up at 6:00am on Monday sleepily. She got ready for school and headed out the door. As Jamie approached her classroom she sighed sorrowfully and opened the door. She saw a new boy. He was about her height and had shaggy black hair. His eyes glistened an emerald green which perfectly matched his light tan skin. He looked at her for the slightest second. Jamie sat down in her seat which happened to be right next to him. Mrs.Perkins asked him to introduced him self.He stood up and walked to the front of the class.
"My name's Alex, I am thirteen and thats all you need to know." he said taking his seat again.
Jamie stared down at the paper Mrs.Perkins had handed out about the PEMDAS method.She couldn't focus on the questions. Underneath the black hoodie she had to wear was hundreds of goosebumps.
The bell rang for 2nd period. When Jamie got up Alex asked if she could show him the way too Mr.McGee's since he was new.
"Uh..Sure" she said.
Some of the popular girls scoffed and rolled their eyes jeaslously.
Strangly they had the same schedule except for 6th. Mr.McGee was a happy-go-lucky teacher that let every practilly do what they pleased. It was a normal day and 2-3 (english) period went by fairly quickly. By 4th period Jamie was wishing she hadn't forgotten her grays. Coach Wise made her run the mile in her normal clothes, which is very hard.
She saw Alex running up behind her.
"Your pretty fast" he said.
"Ya, hard in these clothes." Jamie said keeping her eys on her feet, which seemed to make her go quicker with out cramps.
"Mind showing me the way to lunch?" he sai with a flirtatious smile.
"S-S-Sure" Jamie studdered panting after passing Coach Wise.
