1st day at Buelah Beach
My body woke me up at 7:00 and I couldn't get back to sleep so I went down to the beach to look for seaglass or full clams but instead I got a real treat. A blue herring or crane laded on the end of a dock, scattering seagulls in every direction. It's magnificent neck which was about a foot long and it's beak which was probably half the size of the neck was shining from the water which the bird was fishing in. Obviously the bird had no luck fishing for it started dunking it's head under water and once had a fish but it jumped out of it's beak onto it's slender feathers which looked muddy light brown in the dull light coming from the sunset. Some photographer scared it away because he wanted to get a picture of it in flight. I got a couple pieces of seaglass and I met my friends from my church. Nothing else really happened that day untill came sunset which was like an explosion of color. I started walking on these large rocks on the edge of the lake (Lake Erie) and, if the water hadn't been splashing on my legs and clothes, I would have thought it to have been animated for the color reflecting off the waves was just BEAUTIFUL!Some kid was following me and I slipped on a rock and almost fell into a crack which I wouldn't be able to get myself out but I took off my shoes and pushed of the rock, got up on my feet and climbed carefully over the moss-covered rocks to shore where I went to the lodge to go to sleep.
