His body, the change it had gone through was so drastic it was amazing he didn’t die from not only the pain, but the sheer shock of his limbs bending to nature’s will. His chest, now heaving up and down, his heart no doubt pumping at double the rate at which was normal for his species. His eyes are closed but they are not still. Fingers flexing, muscles jumping as they tighten and loosen. Loud cracks and pops are heard along with a low growl that emits from deep within his chest and takes shelter in our ears.

If he were to strike now... at this very moment... I shudder to think... I question my own abilities to defend not only myself, but the others.

Yuusuke is not here and Kuwabara; he’s not a match for the demons’ tyrant attitude. Also taking in the fact that Hiei has a hate for the lug that burns with a passion that no mere mortal could ever possess.

I can smell Keiko and Botan’s fear. Shiziru doesn’t really understand what’s going on. And Yukina... she can smell and sense her brother’s transformation. I can’t usher the girls out. Any sudden movement or attempt to run might send his senses into a frenzy.

Even though I fear for the others, a logic comes to my mind. I now understand why Hiei has been so quiet all night. So unflinching. So calm around the girls and yet, he growled and became very protective if I came near. Hiei has finally hit his first rut.

How could I have been so blind? The transformations, the warmth towards the females and the utter hatred toward me. The hatred toward Kuwabara is understandable. Practically a daily thing, but towards me? That’s like Yuusuke being a straight A student. It’s just unheard of.

He’s getting up... s**t. His legs were broken during his transformation then re-healed. His knees are now able to bend backward, enabling him to jump higher and run faster. His lungs can expand at least twice as much. At least, that’s what it looks like from how far his ribs are sticking out, having broken away from his sternum.

Which one will he go for first? I can’t protect all three of them. Not when he’s going to act like an ogre with his strength increased ten-fold.

“Yukina. Don’t. Move. He’s not your brother anymore. He will hurt you.” I say with a very harsh and demanding tone, watching her eyes dilate in shock and fear. Slowly etching away from the terrified females and making my way toward the horny demon, I keep eye contact as to challenge him. This being his first rut, he might back down. It’s highly unlikely, but it’s possible.

He doesn’t.

Oh, Inari. Now he’s mad. He’s accepted my challenge. Damn it. “These are my onnas, Hiei!” Oh hell, he’s beginning to circle. An old trick to get to the females, if the alpha is dumb enough to fall for it. Sadly for Hiei, I’m not one of the dumb ones.

Slowly, I reach up and pull out a seed from my now sweat plastered hair. He stops and looks up at me with curious and rapid eyes. His nostrils flare, sensing my fear. Not for myself, but for the others. He shoots a look over to Kuwabara. No... not him. He can barely defend himself against the demon when he’s asleep! But now, at full power, plus some... Kuwabara doesn’t even have a chance.
Before I am able to even sense the heat that has just risen within him, he has already pounced upon me, fangs bared and new-found claws trying to rip at my flesh. I have to be careful... his body has began to produce a toxin that drips from his hollow-point claws.

I hear a loud rip, he’s come into contact with my shirt and has shredded it. Damn. I need to be quicker. I don’t know what kind of toxins his claws hold. If he scratches me and draws blood, I could die within seconds.

He slams my arm down, squeezing my wrist and making my grip lose control. My hand falls open and the seed falls out of my palm.

~Damnit Shuuichi! You have the knowledge but none of the experience! You’re going to get us killed! Let me out!~

I growl aloud, not only at what’s happening in the physical world, but also at the other that I share this body with. ~No Youko! I won’t risk it! I’ve handled Hiei before, I can do it now!~

~No! You can’t! This is a completely different Hiei from the one you know!~

Ah! It feels like my head is about to split apart. I reach up and grab a hold of Hiei’s neck. Picking him up, I fling him around and throw him into a wall. It doesn’t phase him. He stands right back up and charges me again.

I hear the girls scream everytime one of us is thrown down or against something. We’ve started into an all our brawl. Locked up and shoving each other against the wall, head-butting, biting, clawing, punching, kicking. All the while, I have another voice that I have to deal with mentally.
