"And when you're dead I will be still alive." Lolz. Portal.
Note: This is just one long story rant; if you don't want to read, go ahead and skip it. However, if you'd like to see some of my on-going projects, move on to the next boldanation.
We're having a rough time with the final piece of Bloody Moon. We know the ending completely but the thing that's stopping us the most is the action scene. Give us a gun, we can do that. We could do a whole shoot out thanks to the books we read, but a prolonged fight with teeth and claws, and someone without claws, is a little harder. How do you write something like that, anyway? Prolonged, I mean. Anyone can write, "She slashed out and caught his throat, tearing it open. A river of red ran down his front. She dropped him." or such, but a prolonged fight of hide-and-seek, or tug-of-war, is a little trickier. Oh, and in case you didn't know, we're not that great at such scenes. Give us anything but action and we can work with it; action we're working against.
Why is it so hard to write? Probably because I'm not used to it. I take away from what I read, dissect the words and sequences, find out what's between the lines. The only action we read is short and sweet, or shoot outs (yay Anita Blake). I have to rewrite the latest piece, anyway. Something about it isn't right. We lost Rowena somewhere. She turned into a coward. Well, an unreasonable coward. I think you would cower too, if you went against what she is right now. So we have to go back and find our sarcastic, stubborn human. I have yet to figure out how Luke is going to react when he finds out . . . it isn't going to be pretty, though.
And what about our baddy? Why does he want to see Rowena dead? He never met the girl! Well, he did . . . once. A fleeting glance, at least. But I think he said it was because . . . um, something. She did something? No. It was all Ethan's fault. See! A bad guy doesn't work unless you know his motives. All I know is he doesn't like Rowena. Valentine is a scum, anyway.
Have I ever told you how much I like the name Victorien Alice? Victorien, first name; Alice, last name. I don't know why. It's just so . . . it has two of my favorite things in it. Oh, yeah, Victorien Alice is a supporting character in a different story that follows the lives of two girls trying to make things work. Or something. I don't know. All I know is, it has chapters, CHAPTERS WITH NAMES! No title, though. Funny how that works.
So what were we talking about? Bloody Moon, but we're done talking about that. You never listen to us anyway. We just like to rant, though. Um, I'm sad?
Yes, I'm sad. We're sad. We're very sad. We want to revisit some things. Some things as in: stories. Do you know how many stories I have unfinished, or even just the concepts wrote down? I miss my kleptomaniacs. You've never met them before. Their names are Scott and Sadie; identical twins, ran away from home at 16, 17? They were planning for the ultimate heist. So, yeah, you could call them professionals. They have a tech wizard with them also, but he's a drunkard. A sappy drunk, too. Sadie found him on the street outside the community college (he was majoring in computer programming, but they kicked him out because all he did was drink, even though he was nearly done with the school year) wailing his sorrows over a beer, although he was already way off his rocker, and amazingly took him in. Mainly because she found Louis attractive, and then she learned about his techie ways. So they HAD been planning for the Great Heist (as Scott and Sadie called it), which was stealing the million dollar Lamborghini at its premiere. It's a stupid idea I know, but it was in the form of a dream, and I never had dream-stories so I wrote some of it down. It hasn't worked out, though. All the female leads take on the same characteristics if I'm not paying attention, and it just so happened Sadie got a case of every-other-female-I've-wrote-itis. So she's sitting in the corner until I figure out what to do with her.
Can we do a quick recap of what exactly I've got? It's just a list. Not a big explanation or anything. I just want to see what kind of stories I've got going. Thanks.
Here are some on-going projects from yours truly. **If anything is completed, it will say so. Italics = title
Books Our very first, of the serious writing career, Alicia and Jaxson. I can write anything about them except their own storyline. I love the characters. I keep writing them. 121 pages.
Second, The Master's Eyes. Rosetta (or as she was formly known: Christina, named after her grandmother who lived to be 110) and Master (that's how everyone knows him; his real name is Dionysophanes (pronounced: Dye-on-ih-SOFF-an-eez), but you don't learn that until later). She was a werewolf, wasn't she? Master needed her for something (he's a conquerer, you see, king of his own land), then made her heir. I never got very far. 26 pages.
The Vampire Girl. Meghan and Benjamin. My lovely little play things. Actually, his whole coven is my plaything. Roy is so deliciously evil, and so is Rose. Poor Meghan had to go and get killed, though. Ben always warned Meghan her hobby would catch up to her. 55 pages; only one completed. Sequel TBA; only ten pages.
Changes (title to change). Tessa Vasser. Or, if you prefer to go by her real name (what I think her real name is, at least; I showed her two baby name books and she chose this one), Levenez (pronouced: lay-VAY-nayz), daughter of Queen Dubheasa (pronounced: doo-VAH-sa), queen of the Dark Fey. Our faerie princess. I told you about her sometime ago, didn't I? I got impatient with her and started to jump around her timeline, so it got a little confusing, and I placed her in the corner to sit for a while. We'll come back to her. Maybe. Can't give an accurate number of pages; they're all in a notebook being emo.
Bloody Moon. It's still under dicussion. Close to finishing. So far, 75 pages.
The Blood Saga. This was Naomi. Naomi Faye Halifax, creator of Ace Matthias Blood and Lillian Willow Venus. I can still tell you how much I hate her. It was the most original thing I could ever write, and what does she do? Go and ruin it! I hate her! I want her back! I want THEM back! Bring Jared and Bud with you, you little brat! 20 pages.
To the Other Side. This is the Chloe Kinsley, Drake Dalton, Paris Croswell triangle. I miss them. I want them back. Things were just starting to get good then Chloe runs away. I know she's not interested in a relationship but she's going to get one whether she likes it or not! I want this one published! 79 pages.
Stories Raven, who was the Angel of Death after Falling, had some kind of deal. She would take over a body for one hundred years to do something with her two guardians, then go back to fielding souls, what's known as her time of rest, for twenty years. It was just a concept. 6 pages.
The VAMPS and WOLVES. They were fun. I LOVED the characters but they ran away. Jinx, Jagger, Lydia, Ace, Violet, Markus, and Xavier--where did you go? I can write you now! I know weapons! Blades and guns! Come back! 4 pages.
Dream Girl. I'd like to do more with it, but I don't see that happening. It's too hard to get into a real man's head. 6 pages.
Lexi and Roxanne was my first run-in with same sex couples. They were determined to be together--well, Lexi was, Roxanne just wanted to kill herself, literally--no matter what I said. I let them go and guess what happened? Roxanne put down the knives and drugs and picked up a smile. I have three different documents on them, put together they have 41 pages.
Victoria's story was one I loved the most. She intrigued me the most. I wanted to finish her--I have several parts of the story on scrap paper--but she's like Rowena: action is blocking her ending. However, I think I can skip it, since Victoria is a skittish character. Watching the love of your life get beheaded in front of your very eyes will do that, I suppose. I might just talk to her later. 39 pages; with all the scraps I have, though, it'd probably go up to 60 or 70 pages.
Van Kueren's Academy for the Gifted (not the actual title). I really wanted to write a sort of X-Men thing; well, that other X-Men series, where their all in school--the only season I liked. I think it was X-Men: Evolution. The only thing I really like about this story, though, is the characters. Names? Robin Lennox. Rosabella Haynsworth. Samson Ramsden. Jazlynn Buxton. How could you hate those names? They're lovely. 11 pages.
Belle and Toby weren't a real idea but I liked their story. However, because there was a mix up early on (Belle was supposed to be mean and snobby, not even bother with the likes of Toby, but because I forgot a sentence after she was supposed to be pretending to be nice, she stuck that way), I had to put her aside. 10 pages.
Leon and Kari were fun to play with. Leon's not human, as you should have guessed; Kari has a terminal illness, known as the Black Veil. However much I was connected with them died, though, but I've still got a tight grip on Leon's family: Winter, Hieronymus, and Wolfgang. Love them. 13 pages.
Sophie and Max (Maximilian) were fun. Sophie was trying to keep her life together after her mom died and her dad started to date a horrible woman, who he picked up a strip club, and yes, she was a stripper. Max was a bum who played guitar at the subway station. I don't know where it was going, so I had to give it up. 8 pages.
Rambles Amelia and Constantine were for getting past writer's block but I loved his family too much to let go, so they sometimes stick around when the Treskelvay's (Jaxson's family, from my first "serious" story) can't be found (they like to take trips to France and Italy without me). 27 pages. Hailey and Markus were similar to A&C; his family and I didn't get along so well, though. 7 pages.
Faust and Mina were just a thought during church last year. It was some kind of war. 3 pages.
Marzel and Angel were a quickie. Nothing special about them. 3 pages.
Candice and Aaron were fleeting thoughts. I was just upset Kare Kano had to end, so I wrote something similar to it. They were nothing big. 13 pages.
Julie and Erik; the one Oblivion inspired. I only got halfway through chapter one. Only the prologue and half of chapter one. Darn characters, darn world, darn third-person! It'd be nice to have them back, discuss some more details. Oh, and let's not forget I was using a different program than the usual Microsoft Word, or WordPerfect; something by the name of Liquid Story Binder. Never really learned to use it. 7 pages.
As you can see, I have a long, long list. Need to get something done . . . should probably fail school first, though. Get at least one thing off my plate. Lawlz.
