Listening to: Lost Prophets - "Fake Sound of Progress"
As the title states, that's how I currently see the situation in Iraq. It's the modern day version of M.A.S.H. except that it's not in Korea. Instead, it's in Iraq. American soldiers doing what they can in a foreign territory. We're technically a crutch that one person is leaning on. I have nothing against the military. I've met a lot of remarkable people who are doing something that most people won't ever think about.
Politicians on the other hand are a different story. It doesn't matter if you send any of them to Iraq in body armor (John McCain). What they see is just barely scratching the surface. They're basically tourists who are visiting the tourist traps. Along the way, they stop by to take a leak in Saddam's place ... go to KFC in Iraq ... bag some sand to take home ... who knows.
Every day in the news sounds like unprotected sex. "Pull out ... stay in ... endure ... withdraw." It's just vocal ejaculation. The same applies to the presidential candidates. Colorful words from charismatic people will make the American voters sway like rats to a pied piper. I highly doubt that keeping our soldiers in Iraq will prevent any attacks from happening elsewhere.
