Was born with both ice and darkness in him. Is a half demon(wolf) so he's got the ears, and fangs in his half state. though his ears are usually hidden(he folds them down sometimes to make it less obvious he's part demon)
the youngest son of Murdock. he has his ice passed down from his father (genetics), and the darkness from his mother. his full demon father has fire(which was passed to his brother, Silas) and ice. his human mother has dark and light(his brother Silas obtained light). Roy has no memory of his parents what so ever. at the age of one, him and his brother were given to a human couple to raise as their own. Roy only knows what he's seen in books on history talking about a war they both supposedly died in, and what his brother and various people who knew them (enemies after revenge, or long time friends of them) had told him, about his real mother and father.
he's also a lin-kuei elite. the lin-kuei is a clan of ninja, that Specialize in ice style jutsu(although still having other types).
his sword is a keepsake from his father( blood). the blade itself is infused with an icy aura, just touching the blade will, send a freezing feeling through your body, if not actually incase your hand(or what ever part touched the blade) in ice. he also has a pedant around his neck, which is a keepsake from his mother(blood). black with a red jewel in the center, not knowing its purpose, all he knows is that he cant take it off. some think that the pendent holds Roy’s dark aura, and if he can release the dark from within it, he may be able to control the darkness that dwells in him.
personality: kinda keeps to himself, but will not hesitate to make sure some one is safe. although darkness is in him, he's one of the nicest people you'll know. only really wanting to protect the ones he cares about, even if he must sacrifice his life in the process. wont admit fault or weakness, or wounds easily, some think its cockiness, but he just doesn’t want to burden others with his problems. usually pretty serious and tense, because of his past. but still, unsuspectingly innocent, still being a bit naïve about some things. and a shy/nervous person. not comfortable with others doing things for him. over all, really nice, but can be sort of annoying by being so nice all the time. his kindness is an Achilles heel of his, more so the his brothers fire.
background: at the age of 8 (silas11) he found Silas standing over his adoptive fathers bloody body. not knowing if he should be glad his dad was dead, (their dad hated demons, so he treated them poorly) he was concerned for his mom, and his little sister Alice(age 7 at the time, Alice is the birth daughter of the human couple, but still Roy and Silas treat her as a real sister). he attacked Silas. by the time it was over, silas was gone, Alice was missing. and his mom and dad's bodies was on the blood stained ground. he devoted his life to hunting down and killing silas. having no where to go he found a palace, and was forced to steal from them. little did he know it was the lin-kuei palace. one day he was caught, by the guards but instead of being treated like a thief, sub zero took him in knowing full well Roy was half demon. there Roy met seig, his trainer assigned to him by sub zero. and crystal, a human that befriended Roy and seig. after only two years of training Roy was sent off on a training mission, hoping to become a lin-kuei elite when he gets back, so he could under go his own, investigations, and missions(hoping to use that to find and kill silas). but when he returned to the lin-kuei palace, all he saw was broken blooded bodies. he gave the bodies the proper burials, and left out on his own again. the only two bodies he did not see were those of seig, and crystal.

after finally finding a place to call home (sorry for the cliché ^^') he was forced from his world, into what others call "the twilight" (twilight realm, or if you'd prefer, 'realm of shadows', or what ever) there, he met his mother and father (by blood) every one in the world of light has presumed dead. They helped him gain an understanding of his darkness, and his shadow form. after about a year he finished his training, and he found his way back to his world. but when he returned to his home, no one was there. The place was empty, and looked like a fight a broken out. after a few days of stabbing his own heart with pessimistic words, he finally pulled himself together, and set out trying to find them. or who might be responsible for what happened to them. or at least even some info on what actually happened.
Along his travels, he came across a small human girl named Rin, saving her from a demon that had just devoured her parents. Rin, in a state of shock, only saw Roy doing what he could to keep her attacker away from her. After the fight, roy had taken Rin to the nearest village, actually finding someone who could take care of her. Even being wealthy enough to easily afford everything needed to care for a 7 year old child. But Rin only wanted to stay with roy, her first words since the attack actually being “I don’t wanna leave you Krato-kun” . though roy thought a 7 year old child shouldn’t be traveling with him, he was finally convinced to let her travel with him, by her and the family.
personality: kind, playful and sorta random(as children usually are). Very polite and rather articulate. though she's only 7 she's pretty smart. understands most (if not all) things roy may talk to other people about. Always calls roy “krato-kun”.

After spending almost a year searching, he found his old girlfriend (from the “home” mentioned above). However, it was not a joyous meeting. The fox demon he had been with thought he had run away (from her/commitment, their friends, and so on), and explained that she had settled down with someone in the village she currently lives in. even having two small children. She told him that she was sorry for thinking he had run away, but she had no remorse for starting this new life. That roy just seemed half hearted about things, and she was tired of it.
Also explaining that everyone back home wasn’t attacked. Sometime after he disappeared, that all just started to go off on their own way.
Understanding, but obviously devastated, roy left the village. Now no longer searching for his friends…but searching for a reason to stay in this world. The only linchpin keeping him here at the moment happens to be little Rin.
shadow form:
basically his form as a "shadow beast"; a type of being the dwells in the twilight realm.
though he's a half-breed demon, his demonic energies aren’t strong enough to provide him with an alternate "demon form". though his darkness is sort of a compensation for this. with his darkness being so powerful, it gives his body a new form so he wont be completely obliterated by its potency. and with this form being created from his darkness, not his demonic energy, its called his "shadow form", or "shadow beast form".
however...since this form is created by darkness, and he's in a world of both light and dark, his strength in this form is rather limited; though still incredibly great. only being able to utilize this form for a small limit of time, each time he uses it (this limit can be increased through training. training hard enough, he'll be able to push his limit far enough that he can use it for the rest of his life.)
In this form, his fangs and claws double in length, he obtains a scarf, that acts as sort of a tail, and has a few abilities that would label him among what’s known as “the twiligh” (in the twilight realm, the more powerful shadow beings are basically a race called twiligh. The ruler of the twilight realm being one herself).
Though, with this form being a counter measure of sorts to balance out his incredible strength, when ever he reverts from this form he's forced into basically a human form for a recovery period (to allow his body to recuperate from such massive energies in him). being considered a "human" form cause neither his dark energies or demonic energies are active during this time. only able to use his ice (as its the only element he was born with, that he didn’t just overload on).
his human form looks almost exactly like his half breed form. only differences are his ears, fangs, and claws are gone. his hair is black, and his eyes change to more of a light teal blue (still icy, but seemingly deprived of what darkness he used to have). Still capable of fighting at a level higher than normal humans, but compared to his usual stats, lacking a lot of his strength, speed, and any other stat.
