Where are you going?
This summer I made my way to Idaho by plane. I found myself looking around at the other passengers wondering where they were going. If they would get there. Why were they going there. Then I got an interesting idea.

Where Are You Going?

It is a story about an inquistive little girl and her irresponsible older brother who are on a train ride to thier mother's house. The little girl leaves her set multiple times during the train ride and sits next to lonely passengers to give them some company. She asks them personal questions about where they're going and why, and they answer back becasue she's six years old and will most likely forget by the time she leaves the train.

The brother is seventeen and just sits in his seat pretending to read books as other people randomly talk to him.

They meets seven people on the train:

First she meets a woman who speaks about a man she loves. She has been following him around from city to city ((stalking)) as loyally as a puppy. She tells the little girl about why she loves the man and how she proposes to win him over.

Second, she meets a rather fat man. He tells her that he is a depressed man on the verge of suicide. Not to quote Fat b*****d, but he eats becasue he's unhappy and he's unhappy because he eats. He's going to this city to meet up with his sister who is almost stick thin, but very healthy. She's suppose to help him lose all the extra weight. "It's my last chance."

Third, she meets a murderer, though he doesn't tell her directly. He tells her that he did something absolutely awful. He's going to his hometown to tell his family what he did. He's a thin, nerdy looking man. Almost like a thin Drew Carey. Apparently he was a preacher until he killed his wife and the man she'd been sleeping with.

The fourth one, the brother unwillingly meets. It is a boastful, awful man. Believe me, you'd rather stick your face in a blender than listen to how proud of his looks he is. He is a model, but wants to be a n actor and is heading to this city for a job. He explains to the brother how he became to be so good looking and how the brother could be that way too. "You just need some surgury and you could look just like me!" Oddly enough, it is the man that the first woman was talking about.

Fifth, the little girl meets a man so greedy, so cynical, he keeps all of his money in five brief cases. He doesn't trust banks, says they'll take his money first chance they get. He hates people, but is forced to work with them... being a lawyer and all. He's very rich, but had never donated anything to any charity. He's the type that would never even give blood at a blood bank. Don't take this guy the wrong way, he's had a messed up life. Believe me.

The sixth is another met by the brother. A woman filled with nothing but envy for the brother and sister. It isn't bad though. She notices that the brother has an extreme lck of interest in the fact that his sister is talking to complete strangers. She tells him she would give anything to have a family. She tells him she is going to the city to find someone to love her. She almost preaches to him how important is for the brother and sister to watch out for each other.

The seventh is a girl lazy enough to be me. The is the brother's age and is meeting her grandparents in the city while on spring vacation. She is a computer/ TV junkie and make actually worse grades than I do. She doesn't even do any of the work when she's at school. She warns the little girl to be careful with her life and not to screw it up the was she did.

The story includes what happens to the seven people after they leave the train as well.

The brother and sister: They meet up with thier mom safely at the train station. The brother becomes more loving toward his sister, and his sister becomes a bit less curious.
One: The man finds out about her and files a restraining order.
Two: He succeeds in his quest for weight loss! Yay!
Three: He is executed a year after confessing to the murder.
Four: After filing the restraining order, he gets in a car accident on the way to work. His face becomes mangled and ugly. He stops the restraining order and goes to his stalker, who will no longer have him.
Five: He is mugged. All but twenty dollars is taken from him.
Six: She finds a man in the streets and takes him to her new home. Apparently he was an ex-lawyer. She takes care of him for a couple years and teaches him to trust people. Eventually they get married.
Seven: After graduating from high school, she joins the army since her grades weren't good enough for any nearby colleges.

Yes, I know, it's a little bit more depressing and less adventurous than what I normally write, I know, bit I thought it would be an interesting concept. Some people did turn out okay though.

This is one entry I really would like feedback on, so please read it!

Wow...I really like that. I've thought that very same thing whenever I'm traveling, but on a more broad scale. I guess pretty much just like you said, but...I don't know. Whenever I see people, i take for granted for what they really are. Maybe it's just me, but whenver you're going somewhere, and you see people, don't you kinda just consider them backdrops? Props for the set of your life that don't mean anything? But I've started to see it as every single person...a life of possibly 80+ years, and I'm seeing this one moment in their life. Eh. Sorry..rambling, and it's too hard to explain..but ever since I saw Donnie Darko I've been thinking more and more about stuff like that. (Incredible/amazing/bestmovieiveeverseen) .

Anyways, like I said, I really like that. The interconnection of destinies is always a fantastic theme. Just a comment though, I think it would be really good to add a difference the little girl made. If it was just a small comment, nonsensical and simple that would only come from the mouth of a young girl, but it was something that would alter the path of their destiny forever. Possibly to number 7, seeing as how she kinda was the third wheel of the group, not really connecting with anyone, and not much of an emotional impact to make much of a difference. ANYWAYS...really long comment, but I'm bored as...bored, and to top it off, tired as...tired. Nice story.
