I had an idea of how guys are because of the lessons my mother has told us, but she bought me this book, that teaches you how males are programmed and the way they are.
wow was I off quite a bit! I realize and see all the situations I handled wrong.
It gives you examples stories at first in her point of view, then you read his. Wow guys really do think opposite from us. Well in certain areas anyways.
Just from stuff like playing sports.
It says here:
"A guy will go out of his way to avoid looking bad in physical activities. If he suspects that a girl will be better, he usually won't participate. And really don't know how to handle the super trash talk stuff from a girl who has beat them. They may laugh along now, and then avoid her later. If a girl is intellectually and athletically superior, even if she's hot, few guys will go after her unless they're super secure. That said, if she doesn't rub it in his face, it won't sting as bad and he might risk hanging out with her and doing stuff together. As guys mature, they realize that a girl's talent is actually a winner for them. But they would still like to be the knight in shinning armor in some area for us.
My response to this was: I could not believe I was doing all the things the book said not to. I would tease and rag on guys when they lost at like a game of basketball or something competitve like that. I said a bunch of stuff now I'm sure they were wincing at. I am definantly going to remember his point of view, remembering its not easy for guys to lose to girls, in ways it affects their pride(something my mother told me to never ever challenge)what they treasure the most! sweatdrop
