So we had the soccer game a half an hour ago.
And let me tell you, I was a ******** SUPER STAR.
I don't know how many goals I saved, but it was AMAZING. I was diving and dodging between the other team and then tackling them over the ball. I caught things one handed with these long dives and once saved the ball with my knees. biggrin
So they got the first goal in the first half. Then we got one.
Second half. We got a goal after a while, and we were on fire. But our inexperience was killing us, with half our team being eighth graders. They got their second goal then. This girl shot the ball at me and I saved it with a really long one-handed dive to the corner. But I just kind of batted it a few feet away. Callie came back, but the girl got through her and I couldn't jump high enough to save the second shot..
Boo...
One time they shot the ball really high up, and surprisingly I had to turn backwards. But I CAUGHT IT! And this girl who's been running into me the whole game knudges me in the back as I'm still trying to get my footing coz I'm right on the line and she wanted me to fall in. ******** you, b***h. evil
I kept my balance. wink
The ref would have called it anyway; he had the whistle in his mouth.
Then we had about six minutes left. Mel (as a forward) came all the way back to defense, carried the ball all the way up the field, passed it to Jenny, got it back, and shot it cleanly in the corner. BOO YA~~!!!!!!
I love Melanie. heart
(That's Lindsey Hoffman's senior sister, by the way, Valerie)
So then one minute left. The other team is working their asses off. One of them kicks the ball out near the score board on our side. I walk lazily to the ball. Take it. Walk lazily back to Brittney, who lazily sets up the goal kick.
WE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart

ASK YOURSELF in the most silent hour of your night: must I write? Dig into yourself for a deep answer. And if this answer rings out in assent, if you meet this solemn question with a strong, simple "I must," then build your life in accordance with this necessity..." - Rainer Maria Rilke
